TopGear Names Kia “Manufacturer of the Year”
Kia Corp/America has been rocking the auto industry as of late with the amount of awards the automaker has been racking up as of late. Recently, Kia America took home five awards from the J.D. Power 2023 ALG Residual Awards with five models earning the highest ranking in their class, and the 2022 Kia EV6 and 2023 Kia Telluride have both been recognized by the Hispanic Motor Press during the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. As 2022 concludes, the awards will surely continue, and just this week, Kia was named “Manufacturer of the Year” at the 2022 TopGear.com Awards. Way to finish on a high note!
“2022 has been a milestone year in Kia’s history where the brand became synonymous with electrification and set the new gold standard for the future of mobility. The introduction of EV6 GT was a defining moment for us as we extended our electrification leadership into the high-performance arena. Thank you to TopGear.com for naming us ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ – it is welcome recognition of the brand’s achievements so far, and we look forward to a successful 2023.” – David Hilbert, Marketing Director at Kia Europe
Over the years, Kia has launched some game-changing models in Europe and around the world, with the fifth-generation Kia Sportage and all-new Kia Niro hybrid crossover starting a whole new wave of gasoline models and electrified models for the automaker. Sports cars will never be the same after the likes of the Kia Stinger and the renamed Kia K5 . The first all-electric Kia EV6 has become an award-winning favorite amongst many groups and automotive publications, and between now and 2027, the automaker expects to release 14 more electric vehicles (EVs) to cement itself as a leader in EV sales in the industry. It all started with the Kia Plan S business strategy and further cemented during the 2030 During 2022 CEO Investor Day . Kia is full-speed ahead on producing EVs and battery-electric vehicles (BEVs).
Going on from 2002-Present, Top Gear was a hot car show on BBC that presented some of the best sports cars with fast-paced and stunt-filled motor show tests to show off both, mundane and extraordinary vehicles that can live up to their manufacturers’ claims. The long-running show travelled the world, had celebrity guest appearances, performed exciting stunts, and put cars through various challenges to show off their performance and the skill of drivers daring to get behind the wheel. We understand if many of our consumers have never seen the show, broadcasting mainly on BBC, but the name alone has a lot of history behind it.
2022 isn’t the only time Kia landed on the list of winners for the TopGear.com awards. Last year, the newly launched EV6 won the “Crossover of the Year” category, and rightly so. Since its launch, the Kia EV6 has won many awards, being the first all-electric vehicle to be launched without a gasoline predecessor. Fast and silent, the EV6 appeared at multiple auto shows, and we even got a chance to get behind the wheel of one during the 2022 Chicago Auto Show . It was smooth speeding down the roadway, and honestly nice surprise when expecting the roar of an engine and hearing nothing as it ramps up the RPMs. If TopGear said it, it must be true. Look for the best manufacturer of the year and buy a new Kia at Miami Lakes Automall today.
