The 2024 Kia Niro PHEV lineup had dropped to two – the EX and SX Touring trims. A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), this model is powered by a 1.6-liter engine and an 83kW electric motor. Together, the output is capable of 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

Equipped with fast-charging capabilities, the 2024 Niro PHEV can recharge its 11.1-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery in 2 hours and 45 minutes when connected to a Level 2 charger (240 volts). The all-electric range when only using battery power is 33 miles. The total driving range is 108 MPGe.

Standard features on the 2024 Kia Niro PHEV include auto rain-sensing windshield wipers and rear window washer/wiper, heated exterior mirrors with LED turn signals, roof rails, automatic headlights, projector beam headlights (LED on SX Touring), LED tail lights and daytime running lights (DRLs), solar control glass, sound-absorbing windshield glass, a heated windshield, rear privacy glass, and high beam assist. Only the SX Touring comes with a smart power tailgate, LED fog lights, sound-absorbing front door window glass and a power sunroof. The EX rides on 16-inch wheels, but the SX Touring is equipped with 18-inch wheels.

Standard features for the 2024 Kia Niro PHEV include dual-zone automatic climate control, rear a/c vents, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar support adjustment, a 6-way manually-adjustable front passenger’s seat, heated front seats, a SynTex-wrapped steering wheel, and 60/40 split[folding rear seats. Only the SX Touring comes with a driver’s seat memory system. The EX trim comes with a SynTex and cloth combination for the upholstery, but the SX Touring comes with perforated SynTex making up the seat trim and LED interior lighting.

A 10.25-inch touchscreen display is the standard with Kia Connect, capable of Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth wireless technology, voice recognition, and pre-cooling & heating through the Kia Access App. The LX comes with a 6-speaker sound system, the SX Touring is equipped with a Harm Kardon premium audio 7-speaker system.
