Powertrain
Down to three powertrains, ES, SE, and SEL, the Outlander PHEV lineup has become a bit more compact for 2024. Across the lineup, the powertrain is made up of a 2.4-liter inline-four-cylinder engine optimized with Mitsubishi Motors MIVEC timing system and a 20 kwH lithium-ion battery powering a twin motor system. The combined output is 244 horsepower. 144 lb-ft of torque can be generated from the gasoline engine, with an additional 188 lb-ft of torque from the front motor and 143 lb-ft of torque from the rear.
Driving Range and Charging
Still promoting great range, the fuel economy for the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is 64 MPGe, with a combined 26 mpg for the gasoline engine alone, and an all-electric range (AER) of 38 miles. The total range is 420 miles. Open to multiple forms of charging, consumers could expect a full charge over the course of 16 hours with a Level 120-bolt outlet, 6.5 hours with a Level 2 240-volt outlet, and up to 80 percent in 38 minutes with a CHAdeMO DC fastcharge.

Exterior Features
More compact, many of the standard features are spread across the lineup, such as automatic headlights, LED highbeam headlights and LED tail lamps, side mirrors with LEDturn signal indicators, and rear privacy glass. Past the base ES trim, trims come with heated exterior mirrors, a hands-free power liftgate, and can opt-in for a power panoramic sunroof. Silver roof rails are only available on the SEL trim. The base trim rides on 18-inch wheels, with 20-inch wheels the standard for the rest of the lineup. A new Platinum Edition is being added to 2024, featuring a special Black Diamond paint with an Alloy Silver roof color combination, a Light Grey interior, Satin hood emblem, silver gauge trim, and more. The 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will continue to offer the Black Edition on the SE and SEL trims, featuring all-new black semi-aniline premium leather-appointed seating surfaces, a black dynamic shield, black chrome window trim, and black roof rails for an all-blacked-out Outlander PHEV.
Interior Features
The standard upholstery in the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander is cloth, followed by synthetic leather on the SE trim, and real leather on the SEL trim. Past the base trim, the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with an 8-way adjustable power driver seat with power lumbar support, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The SEL trims and above add memory to the driver, an 8-way adjustable power passenger seat with memory, and triple-zone automatic climate control. All trims come with a 12.3-inch full digital driver display.

The standard tech for the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is an 8-inch smartphone-link display audio (SDA) system with six speakers for music, plus Bluetooth wireless technology, Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and steering wheel audio, phone, and voice recognition control. The rest of the lineup comes with a 9-inch SDA with navigation and HD Radio, and can opt-in for a BOSE premium sound system with nine speakers.
Safety Features and Warranty
Every 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with the basic standard features – anti-locking brakes, active stability control, advanced dual-stage airbags (including the driver’s knee airbag), three-point seatbelts, a LATCH child seat tether system, a rearview camera (multi-view past the base trim) an anti-theft engine immobilizer. Standard advanced safety features include forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and blind spot warning with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alerts, driver attention alert, and rear parking sensors. Past the base, trims also come equipped with front parking sensors and MI-PILOT Assist.
