2024 Kia Seltos

Engine Types

For 2024, the Kia Seltos has five trims – LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX. Under the hood for the LX, S, and EX trims is a 2.0 Liter Inline 4-Cylinder engine, able to produce 146 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Powering the X-Line and SX is a Turbocharged 1.6-liter Inline 4-cylinder engine able to produce 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, an increase from the 2023 model year.

Engineering

Transmissions vary on the 2024 Seltos. The LX, S, and EX are all paired with an intelligent variable transmission (IVT), but the X-Line and SX are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Oddly enough, the base trim comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) as the only drivetrain available – the same goes for the X-Line and SX, though not as surprising. The standard drivetrain for the S and EX trims is front-wheel drive (FWD), but they can opt-in for AWD.

This changes fuel economy a bit. If equipped with AWD, the LX, S, and EX, all have the same fuel economy of 27 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The X-Line and SX differ due to the different engines, with a fuel economy of 25 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The S and EX trims have a strong fuel economy of 28/34 mpg city/highway when equipped with FWD.

Exterior Features

Standard features for the 2024 Kia Seltos include automatic headlight control, high beam assist, projector beam headlights, a rear wiper/washer and heated rear glass with a timer, rear privacy glass, power-adjustable mirrors, and sound-absorbing windshield glass. Past the LX base trim, the 2024 Kia Seltos comes equipped with heated side view mirrors with LED turn signals, fog lights (LED fog lights on the SX trim), LED tail lights, and LED daytime running lights – the SX gets LED headlights, regardless. The EX and SX trims also come with solar control glass.

Interior Features

The standard upholstery for the LX is woven cloth, followed by a Cloth and Syntex combination for the S and X-Line, whereas the EX and SX come with pure SynTex trim. Past the base trim, the 2024 Kia Seltos comes with a leather-wrapped gear shift knob and leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED interior lighting, and auto climate control with a de-fog system, plus rear a/c vent. Only the EX and SX trim can opt-in for a sunroof.

All trims come with a 60/40 split-fold reclining rear seats and a 4-way manually adjustable front passenger seat. All trims past the S come with heated front seats (optional for the S trim), and only the SX trim comes with ventilated front seats. The base LX, S, and C-Line trims come with a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, but the EX and SX come with a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar support adjustment.

Entertainment

The LX base trim comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, but the rest of the lineup comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen with remote connectivity with navigation, Kia Connect, and SiriusXM. All trims are capable of Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth wireless technology, and come with steering wheel-mounted audio controls. A Bose premium audio system (eight speakers) with sound-connected mood lamp can only be found on the SX trim. The standard sound system is a 6-speaker audio system, but the SX comes with a Bose premium audio 8-speaker sound system with a mood lamp. Only the EX and SX come with a wireless phone charger.

Safety Features and Warranty

Kia vehicles come with many basic safety features, including dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a rollover sensor, an anti-lock brake system, stability and traction control systems, a rear occupant alert system, and LATCH child-seat ready anchors. Advanced safety features have become a little more standard, with all 2023 Kia Seltos trims equipped with forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection (plus junction turning on the SX), lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, and drive attention warning system. Past the base LX trim, the 2024 Kia Seltos comes equipped with blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and safe exit warning. Only the SX trim comes with navigation-based smart cruise control with stop-and- go, highway driving assist, and intelligent speed limit assist.
