Powertrain

In 2024, the Kia Niro EV will have two trims – Wind and Wave. Both trims are powered by a 64.8 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. It is capable of generating 201 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque.

Charging and Range

Compatible with AC and DC Fast Charge technology, the Niro EV has multiple options for recharging. If connected to a 120-volt outlet, it will take up to 2.5 days. If connected to a DC fast charging station, it will charge up in 43 minutes. Charging is even performed via regenerative braking.

Exterior Features

There are a handful of standard features for the 2024 Kia Niro EV, including heated exterior mirrors with LED turn signals, solar control glass, sound-absorbing windshield glass, a heated windshield, rear privacy glass, heated rear defroster, roof rails, automatic headlights, LED tail lights and daytime running lights, and high beam assist. Only the Wave trim comes with sound-absorbing front door window glass, a power sunroof, a smart power tailgate, and LED projector headlights and fog lights. Both trims ride on 17-inch wheels.

Interior Features

The 2024 Kia Niro EV also offers an assortment of standard interior features, such as dual-zone automatic climate control, rear a/c vents, heated front seats, a 10-way power an adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar support adjustment, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a SynTex-wrapped steering wheel, and a dual level cargo floor. The Wind comes with a 6-way manually-adjustable front passenger’s seat, but the Wave comes equipped with a 10-way power an adjustable front passenger seat with 2-way power lumbar support adjustment, plus ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel (available on the Wind trim), and a driver’s seat memory system. Both trims can opt-in for heated rear outboard seats. The Wind trim comes with a SynTex and cloth combination for the upholstery, versus perforated all SynTex trim in the Wave trim.

Entertainment

The standard setup for the 2024 Kia Niro EV is a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Kia Connect and navigation. This system is capable of Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, pre-cooling and heating through the Kia Access App, Bluetooth wireless technology, and voice recognition. Both trims come with a wireless phone charger and have access to SiriusXM satellite radio. The Wind trim is equipped with a six-speaker system, and the Wave is equipped with a Harman Kardon premium audio system with 7 speakers.

Safety Features and Warranty

The 2024 Kia Niro EV comes with all the standard safety features such as dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a rollover sensor, an anti-lock brake system, stability and traction control systems, a rear occupant alert system, a rear-view camera with dynamic parking guidelines, and LATCH child-seat ready anchors. Advanced safety features are also available – blind-spot collision warning with parallel exit (plus collision-avoidance on the Wave trim), rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian, cyclist, & junction turning detection (plus junction crossing detection on the Wave), a parking distance warning system for the rear, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, navigation-based smart cruise control with stop & go plus curve, intelligent speed limit assist, a driver attention warning system with leading vehicle departure alert, rear occupant alert, safe exit warning are standard. The Wave comes with a park distance warning-front, parking collision-avoidance assist-reverse, remote smart parking assist, and highway driving assist 2 (highway driving assist on the Wind trim).

The Kia 10-year/100,000 mile warranty program consists of 10-year/1000,000 mile limited powertrain warranty, 5-year/60,000 mile limited basic warranty, 5-year/100,000 mile limited anti-perforation warranty, and 5-year/60,000 mile roadside assistance plan.
