The 2024 Kia EV9 is made up of five trims this year – Light, Light Long, Wind, Land, and GT-Line. The Light and Light Long Range trims are locked into a rear-wheel drive (RWD) drivetrain, whereas the rest of the lineup comes with all-wheel drive (AWD). The base Light trim is powered by a 76.1 kWh battery that powers two motors that combine 215 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The rest of the lineup is powered by a 99.8 kWh battery, but output varies across the lineup. The Light Long trim generates 201 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The Wind and Land trims generate 379 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque (able to go up to 516 lb-ft of torque with an available on-demand feature). The GT-Line trim generates 379 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque standard.
Charging and AER
Able to use multiple kinds of charging, the Kia EV9 Light trim can recharge with a 120-volt outlet in 64 hours and 25 minutes, whereas the rest of the lineup will take 84 hours and 20 minutes to recharge. When plugged into 240-volt outlets, the Light trim recharges in 6 hours and 45 minutes, while the rest of the lineup takes 8 hours and 45 minutes. When plugged into DC fast charge @ 50 kW, the Light trim recharges in 63 minutes, and the rest of the lineup recharges in 83 minutes. When recharging @ 350 kW, the Light trim recharges in 20 minutes, whereas the rest of the lineup will take 24 minutes.
The all-electric range (AER) for the Light trim is 230 miles, Light Long Range is 304 miles, the Wind and Land trims have an AER of 280 miles, and the GT-Line provides an AER of 270 miles. The MPGe of the Light trim is 99 MPGe in the city and 77 MPGe on the highway. The Light Long provides 100 MPGe in the city and 78 MPGe on the highway. The Wind and Land trims deliver 91 MPGe in the city and 75 MPGe on the highway. The GT-Line provides 88 MPGe in the city and 72 MPGe on the highway.

Standard features for the 2024 Kia EV9 include auto rain-sensing windshield wipers, a rear window washer/wiper, exterior mirrors with LED turn signals, solar control glass, sound-absorbing windshield glass and front door window glass, privacy glass, roof rails, a smart power liftgate with auto close, automatic headlights, LED taillights and daytime running lights, and high beam assist. The Land and GT-Line trims also get sound-absorbing rear door window glass. The Light, Light Long Range, and Wind trims come equipped with LED projector beam headlights, whereas the Land and GT-Line trims come equipped with LED cube projection headlights in a digital pattern lighting grille.

Inside the 2024 Kia EV9, triple-zone automatic climate control with an automatic de-fog system is a lineup standard, plus rear passenger automatic climate control, rear ac vents, heated front row seats, ventilated front row seats, one-touch sliding & folding second-row seats, 50/50 split-folding & reclining third-row seats, and LED interior lighting.
When it comes to seating, the Light, Light Long, and Wind trims are equipped with an 8-way power driver’s seat with 2-way power lumbar adjustment and an 8-way power front passenger seat with 2-way power lumbar adjustment (also the standard on the Land trim). The Land trim is equipped with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar adjustment, premium relaxation, & 2-way power leg extension, whereas the GT-Line comes with the same plus ERGO motion and an 8-way power front passenger seat with 2-way power lumbar adjustment with premium relaxation & 2-way power leg extension. The Land and GT-Line trims come with heated second-row seats, and ventilated second-row seats. Past the Light Long Range trim, the 2024 Kia EV9 is equipped with a heated and SynTex-wrapped steering wheel.
The Light and Wind trims come with 60/40 split-folding second row seats, but the rest of the lineup comes with 50/50 split-folding second row seats. Only the Land and GT-Line trims are equipped with second-row integrated window sunshades. The Light, Light Long Range, and GT-Line trims come with SynTex upholstery, whereas the Wind trim comes with embossed dot SynTex seating trim, and quilted stripes SynTex trim in the Land trim.

The standard equipment for the 2024 Kia EV9 is a 12.3-inch touchscreen display and 12.3-inch instrument cluster display, offering a total of 24-inches of digital screens. Only the GT-Line comes equipped with a 12-inch heads-up display. The entire lineup comes with smart-touch haptic controls and Kia Connect, capable of supporting Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and Bluetooth wireless technology. The 2024 Kia EV9 also comes with a wireless phone charger and offers pre-cooling & heating through the Kia Access App. An 8-speaker system is the standard for the Light, Light Long Range, and Wind trims, but a Meridian® premium audio system with 14 speakers in the Land and GT-Line trims.

The basic standard safety features of the Kia EV9 include dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a rollover sensor, an anti-lock brake system, stability and traction control systems, a rear occupant alert system, LATCH child-seat ready anchors, and a rear camera display. Advanced safety features that come standard are blind-spot collision warning, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, forward collision warning, forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian,, cyclist, junction turning and detection, oncoming lane change and side & evasive steering detection), rear cross-traffic alert collision avoidance-assist, a parking distance warning for the rear and front, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist 2, navigation-based smart cruise control with stop & go plus curve, smart cruise control with stop & go, highway driving assist 2, intelligent speed limit, a driver attention warning, and safe exit assist.
