Kia Telluride Named a Best Family Car by KBB 2022

Ever since its release, the Kia Telluride , the largest SUV in the automaker’s lineup, has been renowned worldwide. Winning awards left and right, the model earned itself the “Triple Crown” of Automotive Awards in 2019 , winning the 2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year from North American Car of the Year (NACTOY award, named as the MotorTrend SUV of the Year, and landing on a Car and Driver 10 Best list. We don’t see the attention dying down any time soon, and the Telluride was named the Best 3-Row Midsize SUV by Kelley Blue Book (KBB) in December 2021, and the automotive reviewer of the same name just called the Kia Telluride one of the Best Family Cars of 2022. No surprise here, as this marks the third year the vehicle has taken top honors during this KBB awards list.

Although we all know KBB is completely legit, there are always the nay-sayers and disbelievers out there that want cold, hard proof! When it comes to the KBB Best Family Cars for 2022 awards, the list is composed of vehicle recommendations based on results from in-depth testing that measures a vehicle on safety, practicality and value, increasingly useful connectivity, technology, and driver-assist features. Judged by Kelley Blue Book’s editorial staff, the same staff that reviews the newest cars on the market all year, every year, the awards list is put together, and the Kia Telluride SUV landed at the top in the winners’ circle.

This year marks the three-year anniversary for the Kia Telluride, originally launched in March 2019. Completely taking the sales by storm, the SUV sold 5080 units within its first month of release. This pushed the automaker over a huge milestone, selling over 8 million Kia vehicles since entering the U.S market in 1994. For those that loved the Telluride SUV, or have been thinking of buying a new Kia Telluride but also want to go a little green and help the environment, the wait is almost over. During the 2022 Chicago Auto Show, a large all-electric SUV was on display at the Kia Corp exhibit. This electric SUV looks an awfully lot like the Kia Telluride.

Only teased last year in 2019 with a look at the front fascia, many are calling the new electric SUV the Kia EV9 . Although not mentioned during the Kia Corp 2022 CEO Investor Day , we know many more electric vehicles (EVs) and battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) are in store for Kia Corp, with the launch of 14 BEV models by 2027. With at least two BEVs per year between 2023 and 2027, the already strong electric Kia Corp lineup is going to expand.
