MMC Small Impact-Big Impact Initiative Reaches Out to Tucker’s House
When a large corporation like an automaker gives back to the community, it’s nice to efforts made to serve the consumers. If only they could share the same kind of love with their workers, but we’re not here to talk about the UAW Strike. Mitsubishi Motors is doing better off, treating their workers like humans with the Mitsubishi work from home policy in 2022. In terms of giving back to the community, it’s all about the Mitsubishi Motors North America Community Utility Vehicle (CUV) program. Loaning vehicles to nonprofit organizations, the automaker is making a large impact in the world, one life at a time.
One of the earliest donations we saw was the modified Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross that was entered into the 2019 Rebelle Rally drag race. Modified so someone with no legs, or in this case deteriorated lower extremities, could drive it, the specialized model was then donated to Team Record the Journey, a nonprofit organization that helps soldiers from war acclimate to normal civilian life again. This donation was also a part of the “Small Batch – Big Impact” initiative where Mitsubishi Motors produced a small batch of several vehicle models to be donated to nonprofits and other organizations that work to support their own community. The newest loan is for the Tucker’s House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The only organization in the area of Middle Tennessee, Tucker’s House provides assistance for children and young adults with disabilities, and their families, by modifying their homes to make them safe and more accessible to persons with mobile difficulty or disability. Simple things like installing ramps, modifying bathrooms and doorways to be wheelchair accessible, to installing wall lifts, replacing carpets with solid flooring for wheelchair accessibility, and other accessibility options are done to make the home a little better for everyone. To help the people inside adapt to the new changes and utilization of the home, a therapist also oversees the entire process, including adaptive equipment selection, installation, and training. Wow, that’s a neat little extra.
This time, the model is a Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid. The project for Tucker’s House is to use the Outlander PHEV to help the organization get what materials they need and where they need to go to modify homes for Tennesseans under 21 with disabilities. Able to provide 38 miles of all-electric range (AER), the Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) also helps the organization save costs on gas. With all the heavy equipment and materials onboard, the Mitsubishi Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive is definitely helpful, too.
Yes, this is also a part of the larger corporate social responsibility program, known as “Small Batch – Big Impact”. Based on the concept that small, localized efforts can lead to a large impact, MMC continues to make donations to help nonprofits operate. In the past, the program has impacted the Nashville-based organizations Community Resource Center and Charis Health Center, Las Vegas-based Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, and of course, the Dallas-based Record the Journey.
