Kia K5 and Sorento Win Best Cars of 2021 by Autotrader

By the end of 2020, Kia Motors had two vehicles it was putting all the spotlight on – the new Kia K5 sports car and Kia Sorento SUV. A new generation rendition of both vehicles, each had something to say, the Kia was more than happy to put ad spots, press releases, and plenty of promos to highlights everything coming to the lineup. We saw everything from powertrain options to safety tech for the new 2021 Kia Sorento and the crazy performance of the Kia K5 with death-defying stunt antics. Well, they got the attention they wanted, because Autotrader had just named the Kia K5 and Kia Sorento as the “Best New Cars for 2021”.

Best new car of the year is a pretty sweet title to start rocking only two months in. Getting that title from Autotrader is another huge plus for the automaker. Like many organizations out there, Autotrader conducts many reviews of all new cars and helps inform consumers currently in the market. Autotrader highlighted all the reasons we already love the Kia K5 – practically a sibling to the Kia Stinger sports car, the K5 has a stylish exterior, roomy, high-tech interior, and offers high-end options for comfort, convenience, and performance. Like its sibling the Stinger, the Kia K5 is not just an attractive sporty midsize sedan, but the GT trim can outperform some of its German sports car competitors. More power for less money is always a win, and Kia Motors fits the bill.

Then there is the new 2021 Kia Sorento, bringing a budget-friendly SUV to the heights of luxury while still keeping money in consumers wallets. A few new features here, an all-new rugged X-Line trim there, and the Kia Sorento became the most popular midsize SUV in the Kia Motors lineup again. It was a simple transformation, but with the Sorento Hybrid also in the mix, there is more to look forward to in the Kia Motors lineup.

For those wondering, Autotrader editors capped the base price for consideration at $75,000 when picking vehicles for the “Best New Cars for 2021”. Each vehicle picked was judged on available technology, the driving experience, as well as the value of each vehicle.
