The new Uconnect 5 system will offer more customization options for Ram pickup and commercial vehicle owners. Ram owners will be able to personalize their Uconnect home screen with their favorite apps and features. They will also be able to customize their cluster screen and head-up display to help provide information directly to them. If a Ram driver is towing a heavy load up a steep grade, for instance, they will be able to view and monitor the truck’s powertrain temperatures on their cluster screen. Additional customization options include the ability to create personal profiles. This will help commercial vehicle drivers who may share or switch positions with other drivers. Each driver will be able to customize their profile to match their preferred seat position, mirror placement, and music selection.

Additional benefits of the new Uconnect 5 system include the ability to receive over-the-air updates, use voice recognition, and use the mobile Uconnect app. Over-the-air updates are part of a new feature that automakers have been installing in their new vehicles. Ram will be using the Uconnect 5 system to provide its drivers with Maps over the air and last-mile navigation. These two features will provide drivers with relevant map updates and provide walking directions to their vehicle. It will also enable vehicles to receive updates and notifications about new software updates and services.
