The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is now available at your local Mitsubishi dealer. Refreshed, restyled, and redirected towards ultimate family value, the Outlander is a safe and affordable SUV with practical appeal.
Available now at your nearby Mitsubishi Outlander dealer , here are some reasons why you should consider this family-friendly vehicle for your new car purchase.
Improved Efficiency and Engines
Rated at an EPA-estimated 20 city and 25 highway miles per gallon, or 27 city and 31 highway miles per gallon, depending on drivetrain, the new Outlander comes available in front or four-wheel drive and is paired with two available engine options.
The first, a 2.4-liter inline four cylinder is rated at 166 horsepower with 162 lb.-ft. of torque, but an optional 3.0-liter V6, producing 224 horsepower and 215 lb.-ft. of torque is also available.
Pushing the Outlander’s Performance
Able to reach top speeds between 110 and 120 miles per hour, the new Outlander zips past the zero to sixty test between 7.8-9.8 seconds.
Mitsubishi improved the Outlander’s handling by stiffening the body and refining various suspension components with great success.
The Outlander is noticeably quieter, too, thanks to thirty-one noise-deadening enhancements, specifically aimed at creating a quieter ride.
Family-Focused and Value-Oriented
Priced more affordable than the previous model years, the new Outlander starts at $23,845, and was named “The Most Affordable 3-Row Crossover of 2016” by Cars.com.
However, that base price can stretch just beyond $35,000, depending on the addition of available options and packages. Just released to showrooms last month, there are plenty of bargains to take advantage of when it comes to purchasing a new Outlander.
Redesign of “Dynamic Shield” and Interior Improvements
Sporting Mitsubishi’s “Dynamic Shield,” the 2016 Outlander has been made more eye catching, featuring eighteen-inch alloy wheels, horizontal LED taillights, and a liftgate extended by 1.5 inches.
On the inside, the Outlander boasts some significant beautification as well, thanks to a new steering wheel, updated trim panels, and contrasting stitching.
The second row of seats are easier to manipulate, though the third row is still cramped, a fact Mitsubishi seems all to-aware and accepting of, dubbing the third row the Outlander’s “emergency seats.”
A New Transmission
With its wider ratio span, the 2016 Outlander’s new transmission gives the vehicle a bit of a boost when it comes to accelerating from zero to sixty, making it quicker by about a second. It also improves towing capacity, now rated at a maximum capacity of 3,500 pounds.
