While 2020 has been a down year for all automotive companies due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the good news is the tide is turning. The third-quarter results for 2020 have helped Dodge notice just how strong sales were for the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger among customers. The latest results have the Dodge brand happy as the numbers reflect the Dodge muscle car lineup has done better than rival brands flagship cars, including the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette. This is big news and Dodge is only aiming at improving its muscle car variety as well as coming out with a few surprises for customers to close out 2020.

Dodge Looks To Only Get Better

Dodge has publicly stated their numbers would be even better if the Coronavirus didn’t hit, naturally. But, when speaking out about the success Dodge has seen, there is one driving force behind the brand. Their goal is to move Dodge ahead of the rest of the manufacturers trying to create a buzz with new tricks to attract buyers (looks at the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette). The Charger sold 23,547 vehicles with 16,332 Challenger vehicles sold. The Ford Mustang only sold 13,851 vehicles, down 18 percent from last year, unlike the Dodge Charger (only down 10%). Chevrolet only sold 6,355 Corvette vehicles in the third-quarter.

“We only publish total (quarterly) numbers. But if you look inside the numbers at true retail sales to real customers and not to rental car agencies, Charger and Challenger had the best September they’ve ever had in the history of the cars,” added Tim Kuniskis, head of FCA passenger cars

Awards and What Customers Can Expect From Dodge

Dodge recently earned awards from J. D. Power from its APEAL Study across all 2020 model year vehicles. The results look to be the same or better for the 2021 model year as the Dodge muscle car lineup will extend its SRT Hellcat nameplate to the Dodge Durango for the first time ever. The Dodge brand has seen the Hellcat trim hit new retail sales marks never before reached. The 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is the fastest production car on the market today and the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye is the quickest sedan any customers can buy. These are the perks that Dodge has built and made for customers to appreciate. The hard work has not gone unnoticed as from the top executives down to the dealerships, Dodge knows the choices they have offered for customers still generate excitement.

“(The third-quarter of 2020) was also the best Hellcat month in like three years, and the best Scat Pack month in the history of the nameplate. The cars are working, and it’s working because customers are gravitating to the spirit of the brand and the attitude of the brand,” said Kuniskis.
