WardsAuto Names 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander on 10 Best Interiors List
As the year gets closer to the end, automakers get to round up all the awards and accolades they receive for models of the current and new model year. Many automotive journalists and organizations also start to finalize the results from their reviews, analysis, and data collection to talk about the best vehicles out there. Oftentimes, that comes in the form of a list – “The Best” something or other. This time, the list is coming from a well-known name in the industry, WardsAuto, and the list is their “10 Best Interiors” list. Why are we talking about it? Because this year, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander has landed on such a list.
Now that’s some great news. The Mitsubishi Outlander has gone under a number of changes for 2022, and the design concept the interior was based on turned the cabin into an intuitive setting for passengers. The concept was called Omotenashi, or next-level Japanese hospitality, where an environment is designed to anticipate the needs of its guests. In a vehicle setting, an interior cabin would be designed with features and amenities to “anticipate” passenger needs. One example of this is Smartphone pockets built into the second row for passengers’ convenience.
Alongside such features, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander stands out for its allure of luxury at such a great price. With genuine leather seating surfaces available, the SUV has slowly added more upscale and high-end features to recent models. The new Outlander comes with many features to make it a more modern vehicle to compete with the rest of the market. Consumers can find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on the left and 9-inch center screens with embedded navigation and wireless smartphone charging capability for Google Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® available in the new 2022 Outlander.
Although the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander has a starting MSRP of $26,095 (plus destination fee), WardsAuto must have had a maxxed out SEL Touring trim. Starting at $34,646 (plus destination fee), this trim already comes with LED front fog lights, a hands free power remote liftgate, power panoramic sunroof, synthetic leather seating surfaces, heated front and rear seats with triple-zone automatic climate control, leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel and leather-wrapped shift knob to start the luxury aspects. Then the tech comes in with a great sound system to start – Bose™ premium audio with 10 speakers, a multi-view camera system, a 9-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio with Navigation – SiriusXM™ with 3-month All Access trial, HD Radio, and smartphone wireless charging. The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander on the list is just shy of $40k.
“At $38,590, this interior stands out from the crowd because it looks so premium and luxurious,” – judge Drew Winter of the all-new Outlander
