You find yourself standing on the lot of a Mitsubishi Miami dealer. All around you are vehicles. From cars to SUVs, you know one thing to be true: you have quite a few options.
Over the years, Mitsubishi Motors has built itself into one of the most popular automakers thanks to affordable pricing, stylish design, and of course, a high level of performance from every vehicle in its lineup.
Just the same as most automakers, Mitsubishi is moving toward producing more electric vehicles. Recent reports note that the company may use the EVO name in a future electric SUV.
Mitsubishi has not let much information out of the bag, but the automaker has said the ASX, currently called the Outlander Sport in the US market, could serve as the jumping off point for the EVO. Sticking with Mitsubishi’s typical approach, you can expect this vehicle to be light, fast, and full of features.
Mitsubishi’s Future Electric EVO
The new EVO won’t be anything like the one from the past. Instead, it will make its return to the market as a high performance hybrid SUV. Yes, you read that right. The vehicle will combine a high level of performance with fuel efficiency, something that many automakers have missed out on in the past.
As of now, there is not much information regarding the future potential of an EVO electric SUV. What we do know is this: Mitsubishi is definitely considering all its options. The ability to pack a lot of punch into an electric SUV is something the automaker is excited about. If it is able to do so with success, it goes without saying that consumers will be just as excited.
Nobody knows if the EVO name will make a comeback, but all signs point toward it being used in an upcoming electric SUV. This is a storyline we will definitely keep an eye on in the months to come.
