2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Debuts at NYIAS
Over the last week, the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) has been going on and many vehicles have debuted. New brand names are coming out of the woodwork for the electric and hybrid vehicles, the SRT Demon was unleashed, and new SUVs and crossovers, like the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, are blooming.
That’s right – blooming. Since Mitsubishi Motors was bought out of bankruptcy by Nissan-Renault, it’s been making headway for a new finish line. In addition to the recent news like the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross , the Outlander Sport Limited Edition and Mitsubishi’s announcement about their own autonomous driving technology , we now know Mitsubishi has given the Outlander Sport over 100 changes for the 2018 model year.
The Outlander Sport hasn’t changed so much that it looks completely different – if anything, the new look speaks levels of refinement for the future of Mitsubishi Motors vehicle design. The exterior of the 2018 Outlander Sport is sharper, the interior is comfier, and it still comes with great technology options available.
Beginning with the front of the car, a new dual purpose “Dynamic Shield” adds style and a layer of protection via the bumper side. Many other features are available, but along with the shield, the vehicle’s LED positioning lights and 19-inch alloy wheels stand out. Entering the cabin of the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is another experience, met with soft surfaces and a new high-tech steering wheel that has many functions. A new 7-inch smartphone link display is available with a 6-speaker audio system, along with other available options such as Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capability, and the FUSE hands-free system link to mobile devices.
Lastly, a new Touring Package will be an available an option. The new package includes a panoramic sunroof, convenient noise vibration harshness (NVH) tech integrated into the design of the cabin for a quieter ride, a rear camera, and advanced safety features, such as Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, and Automatic High Beams (AHB). Available packages are always a nice add-on for vehicles, offering options commonly found on higher trims at a more affordable price.
