2021 Kia Seltos Offers Great Options at a Great Price

February 5th, 2020 by

Ever since we learned that the Kia Seltos crossover will be coming to America after its initial success in India and Australia, good news about the 2021 Kia Seltos has been pouring in, like the 5-star safety rating the Kia Seltos received from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) (testing the Australian-spec model, of course). Kia Motors has been highlighting the Seltos, making use of its Super Bowl spot to bring attention to youth homelessness , and just before released an advertisement highlighting their “Yards Against Homelessness” Initiative . Now that we know more about the U.S. specs and what the 2021 Kia Seltos will have to offer, let’s talk about options for the best this crossover can deliver.

Starting off, what we know about the U.S. Kia Seltos is that this model will come in five trim levels with two engine options and the choice of a front- or all-wheel drivetrain. Not bad for its first introduction to American shores, and with a starting MSRP of $21,990 (plus destination fee), consumers get a more than mild set up. The base model comes with the initial 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the standard setup, able to generate 146 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with some form of UVO that powers Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto compatibility, front-wheel drive, and outfitted with 18-inch wheels.

This is just the starting point. What if we wanted _ more _ ? Well, we can get more.

The second engine option is a smaller, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, able to generate 175 hp and 195 lb-ft. It may have a larger starting MSRP (starting at $27,890 plus destination fee), but for the control dual-clutch transmission offers, that price bump is worth it. It’s also the most expensive in the entire lineup, fully equipped with chrome trim, LED headlights, new wheels, a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen powered by an UVO infotainment system with drive-assistance technologies, navigation, and satellite radio inside. Some advanced safety features come standard: forward collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go. Plus, a first for Kia Motors, an 8-speaker Bose audio system. Sounding good?

There is still more we can do. If we go all the way to the 2021 Kia Seltos Turbo, the high-end trim of the bunch also opens up a variety of options. They always do.

Looking for a little more natural light? Consumers can opt-in for a sunroof package for an additional $700, or some mood lighting for $300. Then there’s a paint job that says a statement about the crossover, available with four two-tone paint job options that include Dark Ocean Blue/Clear White, Dark Ocean Blue/Black Cherry, Starbright Yellow/Black Cherry, and Clear White/Black Cherry. With all these options to choose from, it’s nice to know that even the most decked-out 2021 Kia Seltos barely breaks $30k.

For a crossover that started far out overseas, the Kia Seltos is going to make quite the splash when it comes to the U.S. Be sure to come to Miami Lakes Automall Kia and check out the 2021 Kia Seltos before they’re gone.
