Say Goodbye to the Jeep Renegade
The Jeep Renegade won’t return to the United States for the 2024 model year. The small crossover has lost some legroom at the cool kid’s tables since its debut almost a decade ago.
The Renegade was initially launched in 2014 and is a mini crossover that shares the same architecture as the Fiat 500X and 500L. The American-market models originated from the Melfi facility in Italy, while Stellantis erected the compact Jeep for other international markets built in Goiana, Brazil, and Guangzhou, China. Interestingly, the Renegade is the first Jeep vehicle assembled outside the United States.
The Fiat-based SUV was marketed as a Jeep, featuring a Trailhawk model with impressive capabilities. The Renegade was quite successful, reaching peak sales of 103,434 units in 2017. However, as competition in the segment has grown increasingly fierce, sales have dropped off significantly.
Unfortunately, the Jeep Renegade won’t return to the United States for the 2024 model year. The small crossover has lost some legroom at the cool kid’s tables since its debut almost a decade ago. However, given its underwhelming performance in recent years, it’s unsurprising that Jeep discontinued it. Perhaps Jeep will take another shot at the segment in the future with a more compelling offering.
