Dodge has been working to improve the exterior design of one of the brand’s most popular vehicles, the Dodge Durango. Enhancing the upcoming 2021 Durango with a fresh grill, according to new spy spots, shows the commitment to refinement in both design and craftsmanship by Dodge. Known for its robust power, high-intensity speed, and sharp design, improving the latter is welcomed news. The Durango has not changed its exterior look, aside from special edition packages, since 2014. This will be the first refresh to the current third-generation, large SUV. The Durango experienced its best sales in 2019 since 2006 with over 77,000 vehicles sold in North America.

What Will the New Durango Look Like?

Based on the photos that have come out, we can tell the bumper has not changed, but the grille seems to have a slightly boxier design. The lower fascia was covered up, however, the fog lights appear to have shifted higher. The upcoming Durango should have all-wheel-drive, as the spy photos reared a 4 emblem on the rear. One change coming to Durango will be in the form of a mid-hybrid version debuting. While this hybrid engine could come for the 2020 Dodge Durango, most likely the engine will be added to the 2021 Dodge Durango. This will be the same mild-hybrid system used in the Ram 1500 and Jeep Wrangler; both of those vehicles are apart of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the parent company of Dodge, Jeep, and Ram.

Why Opt for the Durango?

Among the many choices customers have with a large SUV, there is no fastest than the Dodge Durango. The Dodge Durango SRT is simply the fastest with its shocking 4.4-second 0-60 time. It’s more than durable and handles like no other SUV. The “Street Racing Technology (SRT)” first debuted with the 2018 Durango and has become the high-performance trim that carries the strongest powertrain, the 6.4-Liter HEMI V8 engine. The 475 horsepower afforded to drivers that opt for the SRT is impressive. The current Dodge Durango and the upcoming 2021 Durango carry both the 3.6-Liter V6 and 5.7-Liter V8 powertrain options.
