Mopar Has a Colorful Approach Towards Making Engines – Miami Lakes Automall Dodge

Among the many different parts and accessories suppliers, few do things like Mopar. Responsible for making engines for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) vehicles like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, Mopar has made their name with their high quality products and innovation. While many car enthusiasts know Mopar for their innovative parts, as high-performance and high horsepower is expected, a large reason for their popularity is a willingness to experiment with different colors for their parts. Mopar made an impact with their colors in their 1962-1964 Max Wedge engines. Those engines were uniquely crafted with a bright orange. The same orange shade was found in the 1964-65 Race HEMI engines as well as the 413 and 426 Cross Ram truck engines. This color helped earn further recognition for the brand, but they decided to keep mixing up the colors going forward. Mopar introduced a medium blue-green coloring for their big block B/RB engines. The blue-green look carried a long run from 1962 through 1968. Those engines were proceeded by the 1969-71 high performance engines like the popular 340, 383 and 440 engines that returned back to that famous orange color. The 1963 through 1969 Slant 6 truck engines had a bright yellow that stood out surrounding the hood (as pictured above).

A black paint job became well known in their 2.2-Liter engines from 1981 to the present. The 318 and 360 engines were painted dark black in 1983 and never looked back until Mopar returned to the orange coat with their 707 horsepower 6.2-Liter Hellcrate HEMI engine.
