Chevy has long been known for their sedans and performance cars, so of course Chevy had some excellent models on display this year at SEMA, but Chevy’s display at SEMA also featured some really cool concept trucks. This year Chevy partnered up with two very different clothing companies, Carhartt and Hurley, for two truck concepts.

Chevy Silverado HD Carhartt Concept

Carhartt has long been known for creating durable work wear that is popular among hunters, outdoorsmen and people in the farming and construction industries. So it was pretty perfect for a truck company like Chevy to partner up with Carhartt.

The engine on the Silverado HD Carhartt concept is a revised version of the Duramax Turbodiesel V8 engine. This version of the engine is able to produce up to 445 horsepower and a very impressive 910 lb-ft of torque. Wow! The engine is paired with a Allison transmission as well as a off-road suspension with a one-inch lift.

The Carhartt brand is truly integrated into the design of this Silverado HD inside and out. Carhartt interior features like the “duck brown” Carhartt color interior accents on the black leather seats, door panels, and console. Special Carhartt “C” logos as well as well as a special edition Silverado logo on the headrest of the seats as well as the floor mats.

The interior is awesome and really harnesses the Carhartt brand, but the outside may truly be the star of this concept vehicle. Features such as a custom made Carhartt Tonneau cover with the duck brown color and fabric made by Carhartt, trailering mirrors with a camera system, a bed-mounted toolbox, a 20-LED light bar, electrical outlets in the truck bed, antique nickel accents on grille, mirror caps, tow rings, and the 20-inch wheels are some of the awesome and unique features.

Chevy Colorado Z71 Hurley Concept

Another group of individuals that typically drive trucks for their trade and hobby is surfers. There’s a few different dilemmas surfers face with their vehicle and Hurley and Chevy partnered up to fix those problems.

The Chevy Colorado Z71 is equipped with the all-new 308-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which is new to the truck for the 2017 model year. The Z71 models also features an automatic locking rear differential, lifted suspension and a transfer case skid plate, all of which help the truck safely go off-the-beaten path to find those hidden and hard-to-get-to surf spots.

But the features that are really unique are those specifically designed for surfers., The truck is fitted with a custom surfboard rack on the roof, Bimi-style bed cover and a drying rack in the truck bed. The truck’s seating is made of ventiprene, which is a breathable water-resistant material.

And finally, the truck offers surfers a solution to the age old question, “what do I do with my keys when I’m in the water?” The special concept comes with a waterproof bracelet that locks and unlocks the car when held up to the Chevy bowtie logos. Pretty cool!

There’s no word from Chevy if either of these trucks will become a reality, but we sure hope they do. We will be sure to keep you updated with more information as it comes out. Follow us on our Facebook , Twitter , and Blog for more info as details are uncovered!
