In 2019, Chevrolet revealed its highly-awaited mid-engine Corvette Stingray. It came well supplied with highly advanced technology such as wireless phone charging, NFC (Near Field Communication), backing for over-the-air updates and a 1080p Performance Data Recorder. Setbacks came as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the company was forced to cut down its scheduled production year for its 2020 model, but Chevrolet recently announced that the 2020 version will receive updates.

Although the price and its highly energetic 6.2 L V8 engine will stay the same, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard features. This “driver-centric cockpit” includes an instrument cluster that is fully digital and has a brand new driver mode on-screen as well as a track digital tachometer.

More exciting infotainment features that are included are Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 Plus system, with an 8.0-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth audio streaming, as well as a 4G LTE mobile hotspot. Car review site, Car and Driver reported the system to be user-friendly and has a fast response to commands. It also comes with key safety features like Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

In 2019, the company also implemented a Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 suspension system useful for adjusting for potholes and/or slanted driveways. This feature is now available as a standalone option regardless of whether or not one opts for the Z51 performance package. Car website, Autoblog broke down some of the new upcoming options arriving later this year, such as different choices in color and General Motors’ Buckle to Drive system that inactivates the car if the driver does not fasten his or her seat belt.

On a cosmetic stance, an all-new Full Length Dual Racing Stripe is now available, specifically with blue, orange, red, or yellow stripes. There is also a new gray and yellow color arrangement that has been added onto the list of options.

Furthermore, the latest Corvette model will keep its two-seat layout, but the interior is moved up a bit in order to house the mid-mounted engine. The cabin is lined with materials like leather, actual metal, and replica suede as well as a stitched headliner. Like the previous Corvettes, it will also include a removable roof, which fits in the vehicle’s trunk. Those who upgrade to the 3LT package are granted with premium-like materials like sewn leather on many interior surfaces, including carbon-fiber trim.

Lastly, the 2021 Corvette offers two cargo areas, one in front of the passenger compartment and the other behind the engine, providing a total of 13 cubic feet of storage space. The company states that the car can fit two sets of golf clubs in the rear compartment when they are assembled on top of each other.
