2018 chevy tahoe and suburban special editions

The Chevy Suburban and the Chevy Tahoe are comfortable and luxurious large SUV options that have been the top choice among big families for decades. To enhance comfort and capability, Chevy added three new packages to the Tahoe and Suburban lineups for the 2018 model year.

Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Z71 Midnight and LT Midnight

Also coming to the 2018 model year are two midnight packages, the Z71 Midnight and LT Midnight, and both are available on the Tahoe and Suburban. Both new trims have blacked out features and the Z71 has a unique off-road package.

Z71 Midnight

To ensure the Chevy Suburban Z71 Midnight is built to handle off-road terrain, the Z71 Midnight comes with the Z71 Off-Road Package, which has been available on Chevy trucks and SUVs in the past. The Z71 Off-Road Package includes a front skid plate and 18-inch black painted wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. The Z71 Midnight also comes with black Chevy badging, edition badging and bowtie badging, a black mesh grille and black roof rack cross rails.

LT Midnight

Buyers looking for style and don’t need the extra performance qualities of the RST package or the off-road capabilities of the Z71 Midnight package, might want to go with the LT Midnight package available on the Tahoe and Suburban LT trims. The LT Midnight package includes 20-inch black wheels, black roof rack cross rails , black Chevy badging and bowties and black assist steps.

2018 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban RST

Available on the 2018 Tahoe and Suburban Premiere and LT trims is the new special edition RST (Rally Sport Truck) performance package, which boosts power and performance. This special edition package comes with features like 22-inch wheels, Bridgestone tires, body-color grille, black roof rails, black badging and black Chevy bowties. Apart from the RST badging, the RST trims look different than other Suburban and Tahoe trims because the chrome exterior accents have been replaced with black exterior accents.

Buyers that want additional horsepower can upgrade their Tahoe or Suburban RST with additional performance features like a Borla exhaust system, which boosts horsepower by 7-10 horses at the rear wheels. There is also an available break package that comes with Brembo pistons and calipers and Duralife rotors.

The RST package comes standard with a 5.3-liter V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and for the first time, the RST Tahoe is available with the 6.2L Performance Package, which replaces the vehicle’s 5.3L engine with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower. In addition to the engine upgrade, the 6.2L Performance Package also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which makes the Tahoe the second GM vehicle to receive the 10-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, buyers can further increase performance by adding on the available Borla exhaust system as well as Brembo performance front brake kit.
