In Miami, Chevrolet Camaros and Corvettes fit in quite well. Miami is fast and all about the looks, so a Chevy Camaro or Corvette is an excellent vehicle when cruising South Beach. Aside from beach cruising, if you live in Miami and drive a Chevy Camaro or Corvette, you can also test out your car’s horsepower and speed on the local tracks — have you been yet?

If you are looking for a good Miami Chevrolet dealership to purchase a hot and fast car or to find out a nearby track you can test your Chevy out, we have you covered at Miami Lakes Automall. Read below for track info and the Chevy Camaro and Corvette track times.

Where to test your Chevrolet in Miami

There are two local tracks within a short drive from Miami where Chevy Camaro and Chevy Corvette drivers can test their car and the speedways on certain days– Homestead Miami Speedway and Palm Beach International Speedway. You may not be able to get track times as a beginner driver and if you do you should consider it as your next profession. Regardless, it is cool to see how fast your car can really go on an open road.

Every Friday, the Homestead Miami Speedway hosts Fast Lane Friday, a legal drag racing event for car enthusiasts and street legal cars. At Fast Lance Friday, drivers can race their cars against other street-legal cars on the drag strip as many times as they would like throughout the night. Additionally, there are driving courses offered throughout the month where race professionals can teach you the ins and outs of getting the maximum performance from your car on the track. The Homestead Miami Speedway is located at 1 Speedway Blvd. in Homestead.

North of Homestead is the Palm Beach International Speedway and it also too offers car owners the opportunity to test their cars out on the track. The Palm Beach International Speedway has the Palm Beach Driving Club (PBDC), a members-only club offering weekly, year-round track programs to automotive enthusiasts exclusively at the track. The Palm Beach International Speedway is located at 17047 Beeline Hwy. in Jupiter.

Chevy Corvette and Camaro track times

The Chevy Corvette is one of the most-loved American performance cars. Unlike the Dodge Charger, Challenger and Chevy Camaro, the Corvette is a refined and sleek sports car. Two Corvette trims that are specifically designed for are the Corvette Stingray and Corvette Z06.

The carefully designed 2017 Corvette Stingray has a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces up to 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Over the years, the Stingray has been carefully engineered from the inside out and today it is the fastest production car for it’s price and class. The 2017 Corvette Stingray launches from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

Impressed? Well, the 2016 Corvette Z06 is even faster! The 6.2-liter V8 engine on this bad boy generates up to 650 horsepower, with 650 lb-ft of torque and travels from 0-60 mph in 2.95 seconds — wow!!! Z06 is the first 650-horsepower supercar available in both coupe and convertible as well as automatic or manual transmission.

The Corvette’s rougher sister is the Chevy Camaro, an American muscle car with a performance engine. The 2016 Chevy Camaro SS has a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine that generates 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft. of torque. The 2016 Camaro accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4 seconds. Aside from being fast, the Chevy Camaro is also an excellent buy and it was the 2016 Motor Trend Car of the Year.

Coming this fall, Chevy will introduce the fastest Camaro ever built. The all-new 2017 Camaro ZL1 will be equipped with a supercharged LT4 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates as much horsepower as the Corvette Z06!
