The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Strikes Again as the “Truck of the Year”

Once again, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX finds itself a “Truck of the Year” recipient. The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press (RMAP) deemed the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX its “Truck of the Year.” All in all, especially as it begins rolling out across dealer lots, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX remains the segment disruptor it was designed to be.

“There was some really great competition this year for ‘Truck of the Year’ in the Denver region. Nominating Process

RMAP’s Truck of the Year award evaluates categories such as performance, vehicle features, overall value, and how well the pickup performs throughout the Rocky Mountain region’s rugged terrain. Rugged roads and challenging terrain can’t hold a candle to the Ram 1500 TRX. While the field was narrowed down to four finalists, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX proved victorious once the entire RMAP membership’s votes were tallied.

RMAP launched the Rocky Mountain Vehicle of the Year awards when the association formed over 15 years ago. Its goal remains the same since its inception– recognizing excellent vehicles that are either all-new or revamped for the respective model year. The RMAP is composed of members from the following states: Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Wyoming, Arizona, Nebraska, and Kansas.

Vehicles considered by RMAP have to be part of the Rocky Mountain regional press fleet and available to test by RMAP members. In turn, RMAP members inform the public about vehicles and put them to the test, making them eligible for awards. The primary job of RMAP members is to inform the general public when it comes to leasing or buying new vehicles. RMAP journalists frequently interact with automotive engineers, designers, automotive executives, and other representatives to learn about vehicles. RMAP members regularly enjoy access to the press fleet for testing and review purposes.

2021 Ram 1500 TRX is MotorTrend’s “Truck of the Year”

Like we mentioned earlier, this isn’t the first time the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX earns a “Truck of the Year” distinction. At the end of 2020, MotorTrend gave its prestigious (not to mention highly-coveted) “Truck of the Year” honor to the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. Ram also made headlines at the time because this marked the third consecutive time Ram Trucks took home top honors from MotorTrend. Ram won for its redesigned Ram 1500 model in 2019, its overhauled Ram Heavy Duty pickup in 2020, and subsequently for its all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.
