Ram Truck Launches All-new Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE EcoDiesel

There’s a new sheriff in town when it comes to fleet pickups. Ram Truck announced that a new, more fuel-efficient pickup is joining its half-ton truck lineup. Ram already holds steady in the segment with its fuel-efficient 4x4s along with the quickest, fastest and most powerful pickup straight from the factory — the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. However, the pickup brand’s latest offering — the 2021 Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE EcoDiesel — is more about efficiency than performance. The 2021 Ram Tradesman HFE (High Fuel Efficiency) EcoDiesel has an unrivaled highway fuel economy rating of up to 33 miles per gallon (mpg), with a city rating of 23 mpg and a combined fuel efficiency rating of 26 mpg. Ram Trucks added the special HFE designation to highlight the new model’s refined fuel efficiency.
“Ram is committed to innovation and powertrain leadership, and as the no-compromise benchmark for efficiency and performance, we continue to listen to customer input by offering unsurpassed fuel economy. The Ram 1500 is America’s most powerful half-ton diesel pickup with 480 lb-ft of torque and the most capable light-duty diesel with towing capability up to 12,560 pounds, and delivers up to 1,000 miles of range on a single tank of fuel,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram Brand Chief Executive Officer — Stellantis.
Available on crew cab four-door models with a 5-ft. 7-in bed only, the Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE EcoDiesel features 20-inch aluminum wheels, a black bumper and grille, wheel-to-wheel side steps and a tonneau cover. Cloth upholstery is standard. The 2021 Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE EcoDiesel comes in either Bright White Clear or Diamond Black Crystal. HFE EcoDiesel has a starting MSRP of $42,240 (plus destination fee) and is slated to go on sale during the second quarter of 2021.
Ram 1500
The 2021 Ram 1500 is a star in its segment thanks to its benchmark durability, efficiency, technology, convenience and overall performance with features never before seen in a pickup. The Ram 1500 has up to 2,300 pounds of payload and up to 12,750 pounds of towing capability. Arguably the highlight of the Ram 1500 is its cabin, complete with a massive 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display equipped with Ram Truck’s famed Uconnect 4C. A leader in pickup technology, the Ram 1500’s infotainment display features split-screen capability, 360-degree camera views, Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora, and exclusive content from SiriusXM with 360L.
2021 Ram 1500 TRX
The first in its light-duty pickup segment to include the latest Know & Go mobile app, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX offers buyers an immersive experience to help them learn more about their vehicles. Standard on this Hellcat-powered, off-road behemoth are the following active safety and security features: Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Alert and Ready Alert Braking. An exclusive link-coil rear suspension system with optional Active-level four-corner air suspension makes for class-leading riding and handling in the Ram 1500 TRX.
Experts fully expect the Tradesman HFE to take off once it goes on sale this spring thanks to its price point and fuel efficiency figures, likely to be popular with fleets once it rolls off the assembly line.
