Ram Releases Kentucky Derby Festivities Schedule
A few weeks ago we announced that the all-new Heavy Duty Ram pickups will be the exclusive automotive partner of the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby. Initially, Ram announced that it would release an accompanying Kentucky Derby Edition of its Heavy Duty trucks to celebrate the occasion. Now we finally have a full list of all the activities that Ram will be participating in on May 4 as part of the celebration to showcase its pickups packed with capability, power, luxury, and technology.
Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Trucks, celebrated the upcoming race and the introduction of the Kentucky Derby Edition trucks saying “It is with great pride that the Ram Truck brand celebrates a decade-long partnership with the Kentucky Derby, one of the most iconic sporting events of all time. Designed with the latest class dominating capability, technology and luxury, the launch of the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Limited Kentucky Derby Edition is a true representation of what both the Ram brand and Kentucky Derby are all about; power, hard work, passion and determination.”
The Kentucky Derby Edition trucks will be on hand at the Derby for fans to check out scattered about the Churchill Downs grounds. Fittingly based on Ram’s highest-tier trim – the Limited trim – the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Kentucky Derby Edition features segment-leading technology and capability. Racing fans that attend the event will be in for a treat as Ram intends to immerse attendees in everything Ram-related. Even fans who are watching the festivities on TV will get their own immersive viewing experience.
Fans who visit the Churchill Downs grounds will see on-site pickup displays, backcountry and trackside signage, and video board integrations. Ram-branded clothing will also be part of the festivities, including being featured on one of the top training teams and top horses of 2017 Derby-winning trainer Todd Pletcher. Fans watching from home will also be immersed via Ram television spots that will run during the network telecast. Additional footage involving the aforementioned trainer Todd Pletcher and behind the scenes looks with many other representatives will be available on the Ram brand’s official YouTube channel and other social media channels as well. Fans who want to follow the day’s festivities along with Ram can join the conversation by using the following hashtag: #RamDerby.
The Ram ProMaster vans will also get in on the action as they transport the traditional “Garland of Lilies” and “Garland of Roses” that’ll be worn by each day’s winning horse, along with the winning jockey bouquets that’ll be awarded to the winning jockey. On May 3, a day before the Derby, a pink-wrapped Ram 3500 HD Limited will lead the Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade – a march for breast and ovarian cancer survivors down the historic racetrack prior to the big race. A total of 145 survivors will be walking in the parade and celebration led by a pink Ram truck.
Follow Miami Lakes Ram on social media to check in on the Derby festivities and find out when the all-new 2019 Ram HD lineup finally arrives at our dealer lots. In the meantime check out the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 that inspired the overhaul of the heavy-duty models and schedule your test drive so you can get a taste of truck excellence.
