Ram Redefines the Work Truck
The latest Ram Heavy Duty lineup intends to redefine what it means to be a valuable player in the heavy-duty pickup segment. Ram’s heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models offer a new chassis and drivetrain in addition to a refreshed exterior and interior design. Fresh technology really shines in the cabin of this new generation pickup, so much so that it’s carrying over to other models in the Ram lineup. There’s no such thing as perfect, but these beefy heavy-duty Ram pickups are as close as it gets and now Ram just introduced the all-new 2019 Tradesman HD. Let’s see what’s got people raving.
Based on the 2019 2500/3500 Heavy Duty models, the 2019 Ram Tradesman offers a white exterior, efficient vinyl mats on the floor instead of carpet, and yellow gauge needles among other small accents. The design is intentionally inconspicuous as it’s a model geared towards those clients in need of a fleet. Bland trucks are perfect for buyers looking to customize their fleet and the all-new Tradesman delivers.
Under the hood of the 2019 Tradesman HD lies a gasoline engine that offers 429 lb-ft of torque, but the redesign does bring forth some more powerful options. A Cummins 6.7-liter turbodiesel engine is an available upgrade that offers 1,000 lb-ft of torque and a best-in-class towing figure in the amount of 35,000 pounds. The 2019 Tradesman is available in both two- or four-wheel-drive, with the four-wheel-drive option only available with a manual transmission.
One area where Ram delivered above and beyond with this pickup is the amount of standard advanced safety features available. Drivers can enjoy adaptive cruise control, a rearview backup camera, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking (even works with trailer brakes!) and many other advanced safety features. Ram offers the 2019 Tradesman with two doors or four doors, and an ample variety of bed configurations.
We did mention it earlier that the 2019 Tradesman is intentionally inconspicuous and primed for customization, but Ram does offer buyers a chrome accents package for the body and 17-inch steels wheels to 18-inch chrome units if they’re looking to get fancy. Pricing has yet to be announced but the 2019 Tradesman is scheduled to roll across dealer lots during the second quarter of 2019. Explore the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty lineup that debuted at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show, complete with specs and innovative features.
