Ram Continues its “Built to Serve” Mission

June 12th, 2020 by

Ram just announced that the second installment of the “Built to Serve Edition” trucks went into production at the truck maker’s Sterling Heights, Michigan Assembly Plant. The brand announced earlier in the year that it was celebrating America’s armed forces with special editions of the popular Ram 1500 half-ton pickup truck, with a total of five special edition pickups, each one honoring a different branch of the military. The second installment of the “Built to Serve” pickups is a nautical inspired pickup with both Patriot Blue and Ceramic Gray exterior shades, along with a black interior and Light Ambassador Blue accent stitching.

“Ram truck owners, whether civilian or military, are familiar with the ‘Built to Serve’ adage as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce. Ram honors those who serve or have served in the United States with distinction and we continue to welcome volunteers to our Ram Nation volunteer efforts,” said Mike Koval, Head of Ram Brand, FCA — North America.

The second installment of the “Built to Serve” pickups kicks off on June 14 (2020), to coincide with Flag Day. Ram plans to launch a new “Built to Serve” model every three months, representing one of America’s land, air, or sea-based branches of the military. Each of the five branches of the U.S. military will be honored by Ram with two specially selected exterior shades inspired by the mission and history of each branch. Additionally, each branch’s “Built to Serve” pickup will be offered in a new low-volume paint option — exclusively reserved for this program.

“Built to Serve Edition” pickups come in the following colors and limited numbers:

  • Gator (1,000 units) and Diamond Black (1,000)
  • Ceramic Gray (1,000) and Patriot Blue (1,000)
  • Anvil (1,000) and Billet Silver (1,000)
  • Tank (1,000) and Flame Red (1,000)
  • Spitfire (500) and Bright White (500)

Other unique features on the “Built to Serve Edition” trucks include stylish exterior cues like 20-inch aluminum wheels, a United States flag decal, a “Built to Serve” decal, body-colored wheel flares, an all-black grille, black badges, black bumpers, black wheel-to-wheel side steps, dual four-inch black exhaust tips, and black-bezel premium lighting. On the interior, the front seat includes military-style Velcro panels so that buyers can apply their own patches — flags, regimental, name tapes, and even slogans — all in the name of added personalization for current and previous military personnel.

Ram 1500 “Built to Serve” pickups also feature:

  • “Built to Serve” instrument panel badge
  • Lockable console storage
  • Deeply bolstered cloth and vinyl Sport seats
  • Black Onyx Chrome interior trim
  • All-weather rubber slush mats

Ram’s “Built to Serve” pickups come in all body styles and include all powertrain options. Additionally, Ram isn’t just honoring those who serve or have served with a pickup truck, the brand is bringing more attention to its volunteer initiative called Ram Nation. Since 2015, Ram Nation has been organizing grassroots volunteer efforts across the U.S. to instill the value of serving the community. Ram Nation is inviting all individuals, regardless if they’re current or former Armed Forces, to join the effort at www.ramtrucks.com/ram-nation.html .
