Ram Commemorates 10 Years of EcoDiesel Production – Miami Lakes Automall Ram

Ram will be commemorating ten years of production of its EcoDiesel engine . The automaker first introduced the EcoDiesel V6 engine in 2014. Since then, the engine has powered the Ram 1500 and provided it with strong capability and reliability. As Ram transitions to EVs like its all-new 2024 Ram EV , the automaker will look toward greener solutions. Understanding this, Ram has decided to cease production of the EcoDiesel engine starting January 2023. Consumers will have one last opportunity to order a Ram 1500 with the EcoDiesel engine.

EcoDiesel Engine Will Cease Production in 2023

Ram will be saying farewell to its popular EcoDiesel engine in 2023. The automaker has decided to cease production of the V6 engine as it looks towards an electric future. The 2024 Ram EV has been teased, but no concrete information has been released. Still, this commemoration of the EcoDiesel tells us that while the V6 offered drivers a powerful and fuel-efficient engine, Ram hopes to provide even better products. About the commemoration, Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. said,

“Our Ram EcoDiesel V-6 engine has delighted consumers with the highest half-ton diesel torque rating and towing capability while being the first to exceed 1,000 miles of range,” said Mike Koval Jr. “As we quickly pivot toward an electrified future, we wanted to celebrate this last EcoDiesel milestone by offering our loyal light-duty diesel enthusiasts a final opportunity to order the truck they love.”

Ram will be allowing consumers one final opportunity to place orders for the 2022 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel pickup truck. The EcoDiesel V6 offers 260 horsepower and 480lb-ft of torque. It also has a max towing capacity of 12,560 pounds and a payload capacity of 2,090. For fuel economy, it gets 22 mpg in the city and a combined 33 mpg. The 2022 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is available with a crew cab setup and starts at an MSRP of $37,090 (plus destination fee). Available trims include Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, and Limited models.
