Miranda Lambert is the New Face of Dodge RAM Trucks – Miami Lakes Automall Ram

Like apple pie and ice cream or peanuts and Cracker Jack, country music and pickup trucks just seem to go together. The two have made it official with country music star Miranda Lambert’s new ad for Dodge RAM trucks , featuring a song she wrote just for the spot.

The ad features the song “Roots and Wings” and Lambert singing against a bucolic landscape featuring a farm house and a large tree with deep roots. At the end of the ad, the Dodge logo appears with the words “Guts and glory.”

Chrysler officials say that Lambert was the perfect choice for the campaign because she loves trucks and lives by her own rules — just as many in the truck’s target demographic. Lambert herself said she felt like the RAM brand stands for hard work and staying true to your roots and your identity — values with which she identifies.

Company officials say that the ad campaign is meant to appeal to a wider audience for Dodge RAM trucks, including men and women of all age groups.

The ad is showing in 30- and 60-second versions on network and cable channels, and it launched at the same time that Lambert began her Certified Platinum Tour. The ad will also show at Lambert’s concerts before she goes on stage. The Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is also the official truck of the tour, and Lambert herself owns one. The Longhorn will tow “Wanda the Wanderer,” an Airstream trailer, to each concert. Fans who take a picture with the truck and post it with the hashtag #RootsWingsRAM will have a chance to win a prize pack from Lambert and RAM.

A 15-second version of the “Roots and Wings” ad is showing online, and a print version of the ad started running in Country Weekly magazine on Feb. 2. Behind-the-scenes footage will be shown on social media channels for Lambert and Dodge.

Lambert has been a friend to RAM since November, when she agreed to auction off a Laramie Longhorn with memorabilia signed by Lambert to benefit the MuttNation Foundation for shelter animals. The auction raised $66,000.
