It’s Official, the Ram 1500 is the 2020 Luxury Car of the Year
Cars.com rattled the automotive world recently when it named the Ram 1500 model its prestigious recipient of its 2020 Luxury Car of the Year award. The editors over at Cars.com are responsible for choosing a vehicle that embodies absolute luxury in its segment — a vehicle that’s not only incredibly well-rounded, but that also features exceptional usability and drivability. 2020 marks the first time that a pickup truck wins the Luxury Car of the Year distinction from Cars.com.
“This award validates Ram’s unrelenting efforts to deliver more comfort, refinement and value to our customers. The Ram 1500 Longhorn and Limited are examples of how we deliver the most luxurious pickups in the industry. It is immensely satisfying to have Cars.com recognize the Ram 1500 as Luxury Car of the Year,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand.
All models, regardless of when they were introduced or last revamped, are eligible for the award. “The 2020 Ram 1500 Longhorn and Limited trims stand out from the crowd thanks to their stunning interiors with premium wood, leather, metal and chrome finishes, an awe-inspiring multimedia system and outstanding ride quality. The Ram 1500’s top trim levels are stunning and well deserving of Cars.com’s Luxury Vehicle of the Year award,” said Jenni Neman, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
Ram has made some changes for the 2020 model year, including the availability of an all-new EcoDiesel V6 engine that boosts the Ram brand with its best-in-class 480 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel blows all other pickups out of the water when it comes to fuel range. When equipped with an available 33-gallon fuel tank, the Ram 1500 exceeds a driving range of 1,000 miles. The EcoDiesel engine is available on all 2020 Ram 1500 trims and configurations — including on the Ram Rebel trim for the first time. Ram also leads when it comes to ride and handling thanks to its segment-exclusive link-coil rear suspension system.
The Ram 1500 knocks it out of the park thanks to its Uconnect 4C infotainment system that’s paired with the brand’s optional — and not to mention massive — 12-inch touchscreen display. A leader in pickup technology, the infotainment display has split-screen capability, exclusive content from SiriusXM Radio, and 360-degree camera views. The exclusive content from SiriusXM is not only personalized and ad-free, but it’s also only available to Ram pickup owners. Ram also leads when it comes to the segment’s cargo-management options thanks to its multifunction tailgate that offers cargo-access flexibility by opening sideways like a kitchen cabinet door.
When compared to the segment’s competition, the 2020 Ram 1500 offers buyers twice the interior storage capacity. Other innovative storage features include the versatile RamBox cargo management system. Not only is the RamBox system versatile, but it’s also illuminated, weatherproof, lockable and features a handy 115-volt, 400-watt outlet as well. The RamBox system is also available with a bed divider and a two-foot bed extender and a cargo rail system.
