2019 Ram 1500 Rebel Gets in on the Action
The 2019 Ram 1500 is still collecting accolades and this time around it’s the Ram Rebel who gets to stand in the spotlight. Officially crowned the “Texas Off-road Truck of the Year” title from the Texas Motor Press Association (TxMPA), the Ram 1500 Rebel is the perfect pickup for misfits to venture off the beaten path. The contest took place at the inaugural Texas Off-road Invitational held in Huntsville, Texas where a strong selection of pickup trucks, SUVs and crossover vehicles were all welcome to participate. Winners were chosen by TxMPA’s media panel over the course of a few days as the vehicles faced challenges and obstacles, including a mud course designed to test and showcase off-road capability.
Mike Herzing, President of TxMPA, said “The half-ton off-road segment is a competitive arena with a number of players and the 2019 Rebel was up to the challenge. Although well-mannered for on-road, the Rebel also offers great capability, encourages spirited off-road driving and is a great-looking pickup that thrilled the Texas Motor Press Association jurors.”
When it comes to off-road equipment the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel can’t be beaten. Buyers can enjoy features such as 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, a factory suspension lift, Bilstein shocks, 3:92:1 gear sets and a locking rear axle. Buyers also have the option to upgrade to the available 12-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen display that features customizable content and split-screen capability. Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand, celebrated the win saying “The Ram 1500 Rebel is a tough off-road truck, yet it offers class-leading technology and a great, no-compromise ride. As America’s most awarded pickup, buyers know they’re getting the best truck on the market, and one that’s ready to take roads less traveled.”
This isn’t Ram’s first rodeo in Texas as the brand is the only one in the pickup segment to offer a truck designed and sold with Texans in mind. Ram recently introduced the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star models at the DFW Auto Show. Exclusively sold in the second largest state in the U.S., the Ram HD Lone Star is here to serve the country’s largest pickup market. At the time of its debut Reid Bigland commented: “First and foremost, the Ram Heavy Duty Lone Star edition is a powerful, hard working truck that meets the demands of Texas truck buyers. Trucks are a big part of life in the Lone Star State, and Ram offers the segment’s best combination of performance, strength, luxury, and technology.”
It’s nice to see Ram earn recognition from a state that truly knows trucks, especially when said recognition is on behalf of the TxMPA whose intent is to create insightful, meaningful, and informed content that serves to influence the public’s buying decisions.
