KBB Names 2020 Kia Telluride on Best Family Cars List

With all the sour news going on, it’s nice to know that there are some beams of light here and there. Although the auto industry is putting a pause on things to help stop the spread of COVID-19, automobile reviewers and publications don’t have to slow down in the digital age. Recently, the well-known name Kelley Blue Book finished putting together some lists, their usual “Best of” for each car segment, and that includes family cars. It doesn’t seem like anyone can get enough of the large SUV from Kia Motors, the 2020 Kia Telluride, recently winning the _ Automobile _ All-Stars award , the “Triple Crown” of Automobile Awards , and the 2020 MAMA Family Vehicle of the Year (held by the Midwest Automotive Media Association). Doesn’t take a genius to guess that Kelley Blue Book also put the 2020 Kia Telluride on their list of the “12 Best Family Cars”.

A 3-row SUV with a lot of possibilities, the Kia Telluride is the new vehicle for active families who are always on-the-go and in need of the extra space. Kelley Blue Book was sure to focus on the number one reason the Kia Telluride makes for a great family car – safety. Along with amazing car warranties, Kia Motors is all about keeping passengers safe, and their latest vehicles come with an assortment of safety features and more advanced safety options. Standard in all 2020 Kia Telluride models is the Kia’s Drive Wise package, an assortment of safety systems to help keep rides in the SUV incident-free.

The Kia’s Drive Wise package includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist. Although a family vehicle, there’s also a driver’s attention level system that can register if the driver is dozing off or not in the right mindset, based on their current driving behavior compared to previous patterns of collected data. For getting in and out safely, sometimes a challenge for parallel parking spaces, the 2020 Kia Telluride also comes with the Safe Exit Assist feature that lets the passenger know if a vehicle is approaching before they exit.

Inside the 2020 Kia Telluride, there are also some great features, like the helpful Blind Spot View Monitor that displays a live feed of vehicles in your blind spot, found in the digital instrument cluster. Front-row seats get some luxury features, such as seats with optional heat and ventilation, a standard 8-inch touchscreen with UVO (optional 10.25-inch touchscreen), and available Driver Talk, a feature that makes it easier to talk to people in the second and third-row. Helpful for also splitting up fights between little ones without having to take your eyes off the road to make sure they hear the “Dad voice” or even worse, the “Mom voice”.

If looking for more options that push the Kia Telluride into luxury SUV territory, consumers will be happy to know that even a fully-loaded 2020 Kia Telluride SUV with leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a Harman Kardon 10-speaker premium audio system, and all-wheel drive barely passes $45, and that’s without the available SX Prestige package that costs another $2300 and adds heated second-row seats, ventilated second-row seats, a heads-up display, premium headliner, premium Nappa leather trim, and an automatic rain sensing windshield wiper.
