2020 Kia Soul Teased Before LA Auto Show
The Kia Soul has always been the hatchback to seek after, and the 2019 brought with it few changes and options. Many thought this would be the highlight of hatchbacks for Kia Motors, but it’s about to take a backseat. Said to show up at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2020 Kia Soul is all-new. Before that happens, Kia decided to toss a few teaser photos around. They don’t show much, but we’ll see the truth soon enough.
Oh, You Tease!
The first tease just showed us a profile of the rear of the new 2020 Kia Soul. Like all Kia Soul hatchbacks before it, the new Soul still looks boxy and has upswept rear windows. We’re seeing some style bleeding over from the Kia Stinger, as promised, but we couldn’t see much in the first shot.
Now check it out at the top of the page. What’s most appealing about this is the floating-roof design. Thanks to a matte-black strip across the entire top of the hatchback just before the roof makes it look as if the green roof is separate from the rest of the body. The taillight design looks a little longer and extends inward into the rear hatch based on spy shots. The second tease gave us a little more to look at though.
Slim headlights, pods to house another set of lights (maybe LEDs?), and a bit of a swept-back roof line to simulate that sporty look of the Kia Stinger. There is talk about another color for the roof as an option to offer some contrast to the rest of the body, but for now, that is just a rumor. There have yet to be teasers of the interior, too, but that’s what the LA Auto Show is for.
We can see a couple of changes. For one, the steering wheel has been upgraded to include phone and media controls in 2020. What stands out the most though is the new, wide, rectangular screen making up the touchscreen display for the infotainment system. There isn’t a whole lot of news about the tech and driver assistance features in the 2020 Soul, but the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show should change that.
The 2020 Kia Soul is said to have a new lineup of trims. We’ll be getting an LX, EX, S, the new GT-Line _ and _ a new X-Line. Ooh, what’s that? Kia Motors says the X-line of vehicles will have exceptional style, capability, and comfort. There will definitely be a focus on a sporty appearance of the 2020 Kia Soul for the GT-Line and the X-Line. It’s a lot to look forward to.
We’re only days away from the 2018 Los Angeles show, starting on November 30 and lasting until December 9, 2018. Press conferences are already happening, so we may hear something else before then.
