We’d Love to See the Jeep Yuntu Concept in the U.S.

Since 2007, Jeep has been producing third generation Wranglers, known as the Wrangler JK, but they’ll be changing that soon. For the 2018 model year, Jeep is replacing the Wrangler JK with a new platform and we wonder if it will be anything like the new Jeep concept, the Jeep Yuntu Concept, which was introduced in China at the Shanghai Auto Show 2017. The Jeep Yuntu Concept is unlike any Jeep model in the U.S. The concept is a PHEV and it is a seven-passenger vehicle, which are two elements that would make Jeep’s lineup in the U.S. more versatile. In addition to the Yuntu Concept’s impressive electric range of 40 miles, the Jeep has advanced technology like wireless battery recharging, facial recognition and gesture controls.

While we can’t expect all of the advances of the Yuntu to be introduced in 2018, it is possible Jeep could work them into their next designs over time. In addition to the changes to the Wrangler, the Jeep brand has several other changes, like the revival of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the Wrangler pickup, planned for the next few years.
