Three New Jeep Models You Want to Know About
Attention Jeep lovers! We have great news for you. Starting as soon as early 2017, there are a couple new Jeep models hitting the road. Some models are totally new and some are revamps of discontinued models, but all of them are true to Jeep’s roots.
All-New Jeep Compass
The first major change to the Jeep lineup is the surprising redesign of the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass. To breath some new life into the Compass, Jeep has reconfigured the model to look like a cross between the Jeep Renegade and a Cherokee with distinctive features of it’s own.
The new Compass will be available with a number of options, including a total of five engine options, but it is not clear which engines will be available in the U.S. Additionally, the all-new Compass will be available with two different 4X4 systems and three transmission options.
New Wrangler Pickup
If you haven’t heard, Jeep has officially announced that they are bringing back the Jeep Wrangler Pickup truck. The model hasn’t been produced since the early 90’s, but Jeep wanted to satisfy consumer requests in a big way.
The new Wrangler Pickup is expected to be available in 2018 and it will come standard with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine and the engine can be paired with a manual or automatic transmission. To enhance performance and improve fuel efficiency, the Wrangler Pickup is expected to replace some of the vehicle’s steel parts with lighter aluminum panels.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
* Jeep is adding the option of the 707-horsepower SRT Hellcat engine onto the Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup and the new model will be called the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Yep, you heard that right, the same SRT Hellcat engine available on the Dodge Charger and Challenger will be put into the a Jeep Grand Cherokee. In addition to 707 horses under the hood, the engine pushes out 650 lb-ft of torque, so it won’t have any problems powering through thick mud. We don’t have too many details on this model yet, but as soon as we get more information we will share it with you! *
