The Jeep Avenger Leads the European B-SUV Market

The Jeep Avenger is setting new benchmarks in the European B-SUV market, with 100,000 customer orders since its launch in late 2022. Eric Laforge, Head of Jeep Brand in Enlarged Europe, highlighted the success of the Avenger, stating that the vehicle’s impact goes beyond sales figures. It represents Jeep’s commitment to offering customers the “Freedom of Choice,” catering to diverse mobility needs with various engines, transmissions, and upcoming all-wheel drive options. The Avenger range now includes the new e-Hybrid model, broadening choices for drivers as Jeep continues its shift toward sustainability. With battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants accounting for 25 percent of total sales, the brand is moving toward greener mobility solutions.

The new Avenger e-Hybrid is vital to this transition, offering a smooth entry into the electric vehicle market. Powered by a 48-volt hybrid system, it combines a 100-horsepower internal combustion engine with a 21-kW electric motor integrated into a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This setup ensures a smooth transition to electric drive, reducing CO2 emissions. The 0.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, placed under the driver’s seat, preserves cabin space and intelligently allows the vehicle to switch between propulsion types based on driving conditions, maximizing efficiency.

Jeep intends to introduce the Avenger 4xe to the European market by late 2024, marking a significant advancement in technology and design. This model will feature a 48V hybrid system with a 1.2-liter turbo engine producing 136 hp and two 21 kW electric motors for front and rear all-wheel drive. The system allows for low-speed electric driving and includes an E-Boost function in Sport Mode for enhanced performance.
