No Real Competition with the 2017 Jeep Compass
Sure the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass has “competitors”, but we use that term very loosely! No other CUV can beat the off-road capability of the Jeep Compass. In addition, the Compass offers a great price that stacks up very well when compared to similar vehicles, standard features that are considered upgrades with similar models, and so much more.
Some competitors of the Jeep Compass include Toyota Rav4, Kia Sportage, Ford Escape and Nissan Rogue. The list goes on, but no matter how you slice it, the Compass is truly unbeatable. Most of these SUVs come with the option of all-wheel drive, but most don’t have the option of four-wheel drive and none have an off-road system like the Compass Trailhawk.
Reasons the Compass beats the competition:
Performance and Capability – The standard engine for the Jeep Compass is a 2.4-liter I4 MultiAir engine that produces up to 180 horsepower. The standard drivetrain for the Compass is two-wheel drive, but as previously mentioned there are some trims available in four-wheel drive (the Compass Trailhawk and Limited trims). The engine allows for up to 1,000 pounds of towing, so pop those jet skis on the back and head to the water!
Off-road capability – Of course the option of 4X4 drive adds capability to the Compass, but there is also a trim level decked out in off-road features. The Compass Trailhawk is meant to hit the trails and is the reason no other CUV is as capable as the Compass. This trim comes with a selec-terrain system that comes with five different driving modes (snow, mud, rock, auto, and sand). The system allows the vehicle to send the traction needed to the correct wheels depending on terrain. In addition, a two-inch lift, larger wheels, all-terrain tires and tow hooks come standard as well.
*Technology – Now let’s talk tech! The standard tech features for both safety and entertainment in the base model compass is impressive. Then, when you add in the option features, the Compass is truly unstoppable. Entertainment technology standard on all models including the base model includes a six-speaker audio system, UConnect 5.0 with a 5-inch touchscreen and bluetooth connection, a media hub with both AUX and USB ports, and the ability to opt in for navigation. Standard safety features include advanced multistage airbags, traction and stability systems, an engine immobilizer, a panic alarm, and a ParkView rear back-up camera. *
Price – On to what really matters, price! The Jeep Compass pricing starts as low as $20,995 for the base trim level. Great price, right?
