Jeep Now Has its Very Own LEGO Technic Model

December 11th, 2020 by

Jeep and the LEGO Group unveiled their first — and latest — a collaboration with the new LEGO Technic model, a one-of-a-kind Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Inspired by the real life-size Wrangler, and designed to mimic the iconic design, look, and legendary off-road capabilities, the first-ever Jeep LEGO Technic model is ready to travel down paths unknown and face any epic imaginary adventures.

“The Jeep Wrangler is an icon in the off-road world. The Rubicon has a lot of iconic details loved by 4×4 fans the world over, so it was important to me to pack as many of the authentic, powerful features of the real vehicle into the LEGO Technic replica. I hope LEGO fans and vehicle lovers enjoy all aspects, including the suspension, winch, and open-air design that we developed alongside the talented Jeep design team,” said Lars Thygesen, Designer, LEGO Technic.

LEGO fans of all ages will be thrilled to build and recreate the high-performance 4×4 systems, fold-down rear seats, classic seven-slot grille, and rugged tires — all in perfect LEGO Technic form. The kit is feature-packed and contains a total of 665 pieces, so that builders can create countless memories and endless off-road adventures. LEGO included a button-operated front steering system along with a powerful axle-articulation suspension, meaning builders can put their model to the test on obstacles everywhere. Going with a classic color scheme, LEGO and Jeep agreed on an eye-catching yellow-and-black design that’s captivating while in action and on display.

LEGO designed the Jeep Wrangler Technic kit for all LEGO fans aged 9 and above. The kit goes on sale beginning January 1, 2021 on LEGO.com, at LEGO stores, and other global retailers and is priced at $49.99.

Jeep 80th Anniversary

Our partnership with the LEGO Group gives our enthusiasts another inclusive opportunity to share the passion they have for the Jeep Wrangler, a global automotive icon that represents fun, freedom, and unbridled adventure,” said Christian Meunier, Global President of the Jeep Brand.

It’s been nearly 80 years of legendary heritage from Jeep, and the 80th Anniversary Edition of the Jeep Wrangler does not disappoint. It offers buyers Granite Crystal interior accents, optional leather upholstery available, a black hardtop, and 18-inch wheels in a Granite Crystal finish. Other additional accents on the 80th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler include special badges to commemorate the occasion, remote start, and an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen display. The two-door Wrangler 80th Anniversary Edition has a starting MSRP of $37,485 (plus destination fee), while the four-door variant starts at $40,985 (plus destination fee).
