Jeep Introduces the 2020 Gladiator Launch Edition

April 3rd, 2019 by

It’s been 27 years in the making, but Jeep’s new pickup, the Gladiator, is finally here. Jeep is offering a Launch Edition of the Gladiator for one day only to kick things off. Prospective buyers who might be interested will be able to pre-order the Gladiator Launch Edition only on April 4th, a day Jeep has deemed 4×4 day. Jeep is celebrating its devoted fans with pre-order availability unrelated to the Gladiator Launch Edition commencing on April 3rd as well.

Loaded like a Rubicon, the Gladiator Launch Edition will be offered with five exterior color choices – Black, Bright White, Billet Silver Metallic, Firecracker Red, and Granite Crystal Metallic. On the inside, the Gladiator Launch Edition will feature a black leather interior complete with red accents. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is a 285-horsepower V6 engine that rests under the hood. An eight-speed automatic transmission is available as an upgrade option.

Jeep has offered the following list of features detailing the specs of the Gladiator Launch Edition:

  • LED head and tail lights
  • Nine-Speaker Alpine Premium Sound System
  • 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen display
  • Keyless entry
  • Forward-Facing TrailCam camera
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rear Cross Path detection
  • ParkSense rear park assist system
  • Advanced Brake Assist
  • Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop
  • Trail Rail Cargo Management System
  • Spray-in bed liner
  • Trailer Tow Package

Additionally, since the Gladiator Launch Edition is indeed a Rubicon trim it also comes with Falken 33-inch all-terrain tires, a four-wheel drive system with a two-speed transfer case and a low-range gearbox, electronic front and rear differential locks, an electric sway bar disconnect, and Dana 44 solid axles.

Jeep will only offer 4190 examples of the Gladiator Launch Edition, a nod to the area code – 419 – of Toledo, Ohio, where the Gladiator and Wrangler are manufactured and assembled. Every Gladiator Launch Edition has a 419 embossed in the bed liner as a tribute to the workers at the Toledo Jeep factory. Additionally, each Gladiator Launch Edition will also have an aluminum badge on tailgate indicating it’s one of the 4190 pickups.

Those that do buy a Gladiator Launch Edition will also be eligible to enter Jeep’s “Find Your Freedom” contest, where the brand awards a lucky winner a $100,000 salary to go and explore the world for a year with the truck. To enter the contest buyers will have to submit a video and be chosen. Like we said earlier, orders for the Gladiator Launch Edition will commence on April 4 on Jeep’s website. A designated “Gladiator Concierge” will pair buyers with a dealer to finish their order and pay a deposit for the pickup. The Gladiator Launch Edition has an MSRP of $62,310.
