However, the 4xe variant is even more unique, boasting a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a hybrid powertrain with two electric motors and a 400-volt battery pack. The electric motors yield an output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. 

The powertrains for the new Jeep connect to an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic. However, the 4xe model is impressive, offering an EPA-rated 56 MPGe combined and 25 miles of all-electric range. On the other hand, the Pentastar V6 has an EPA rating of 19 in the city, 26 on the highway, and 22 combined. Yet, what’s interesting is that the American automaker says the Pentastar V6 can go more than 500 miles on a single tank of gas!

The Grand Cherokee’s V6 models come with a rear-wheel drivetrain as standard, while the 4xe boasts a standard 4WD. However, being a Jeep, there are three 4×4 drivetrains available: Quadra-Trac I, Quadtra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II with an electronic limited-slip rear differential (e-LSD). Regardless of which drivetrain enthusiasts choose, rest assured that all 4×4 options have an active transfer case that automatically distributes torque to wheels with better traction.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trim Levels 

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a fantastic vehicle with four different trim levels. The base model is the Laredo, which comes with LED headlights, roof rails, 17-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated mirrors, a six-speaker audio system, an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, and six USB ports. However, for anyone who desires more features, plenty of optional equipment packages can add heated seats, wireless charging, a sunroof, a remote start, a power liftgate, and other great features. 

The Grand Cherokee Limited trim welcomed some pretty sweet upgrades. Jeep updated the 18-inch wheels, and now the SUV includes navigation, LED fog lights, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable and heated seats. Additionally, the Limited offers a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, cowhide upholstery, and heated rear seats. The Overland trim harbors fantastic features such as adaptive air suspension, which adjusts the ride height for 4×4 variants. The Overland trim seats are ventilated, and the navigation system is top-notch. The nine-speaker Alpine stereo sounds incredible, and the interior ambient lighting sets the mood. Furthermore, the leather upholstery and the hands-free tailgate is a game-changer.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit features four-zone automatic climate control, a life-saver on those long drives. The front massaging seats are dreamy. The driving assist and the surround-view camera offer an added sense of safety. The Summit Reserve Package delivers more luxury features like a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system and premium leather seats. The 21-inch wheels and open-pore wood trim are the sugar shell to the best creme brulee. Overall, the Grand Cherokee Summit is a fitting choice for anyone who wants a posh adventure.
