Dodge has been successful in recent years, closing the last decade with tremendous sales. Apparently, the world is awaiting the Dodge Barracuda. In fact, according to Google, the vehicle is a popular search topic. A lot of people are searching for a new Dodge muscle car, maybe because there hasn’t been a new one announced since 2008 when the Dodge Challenger came back to life. The renderings of the Barracuda have the vehicle looking similar to the exterior shape and design of the Challenger. The muscle car carries similar bold features and the aerodynamics of the vehicle are apparent. The suggested price point is expected to be close to the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, around $75,000 MSRP, according to some sources. We’re not sure if Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is planning the Barracuda to come out as a surprise, but we can’t definitely say it’s coming out in 2020. Some reports suggest this might be the year, but we are not sure.
When Come The Barracuda Come Out?
Dodge enjoyed 2019 with a victory over the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro in terms of sales in the third-quarter and held its own throughout last year. Dodge knows customers are anxious to see more options. The Dodge brand has carried the nameplate of the Barracuda before. The debut would most likely take place at a major international auto show and some of the upcoming dates and cities include New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. The New York International Auto Show will run from April 10, 2020 through April 19th, 2020, the State Fair of Texas, will be open from September 25th through October 18th, 2020, the Los Angeles Auto Show, will run November 20th through the 29th, 2020. As for South Floridians, the Miami International Auto Show will see the date pushed back, skipping 2020 altogether with its 50th-anniversary auto show taking place in February 2021. The Detriot North American International Auto Show, where the Barracuda could possibly debut, moved from January to June recently.
Other Nameplates That Have Returned
Many nameplates have not gone away and stayed in the minds of previous owners and fans. The Blazer was recently one name that returned, the Gladiator, the Supra and many other vehicle names across multiple brands have resurfaced. The Dodge Barracuda is one example that has not gone away and many have pegged the return as more than a possibility, but a future entry into the Dodge muscle car lineup.
