2016 Dodge Durango: Additional Trims Available
As your Dodge dealership in Miami prepares for the release of the 2016 Durango, there’s a few more things they feel you should know about your next Dodge.
The 2016 Durango has added more trim packages to its lineup giving the buyers more choices and opportunities to truly get the right Durango for you.
Along with the new paint colors, and a whole slew of updates including redesigns and an additional Sports mode, the Durango is ready to redefine what bold looks like.
Bold and Beautiful
Offering five models to choose from, the SXT, SXT Plus, Limited, R/T and Citadel, the trim packages available are there to enhance and showcase the luxury features that already exist and can be added to your choice model. As the Durango already stands out in its crossover segment as extremely powerful and rugged, these packages highlight exactly how bold and beautiful it can be.
Powerful Engine Choices
The 2016 Dodge Durango currently offers two choices of engines. The base engine is a 3.6L V6 Pentastar that delivers a powerful 290 horsepower and 260 lb/ft of torque at 4800 rpm. Providing the best-in-class fuel economy, this V6 gets 25 highway mpg. It also provides best-in-class towing capacity of 6200 lbs. Mated to a Mercedes W5A580 five-speed automatic transmission. If this powerful V6 Pentastar doesn’t impress you, then the second engine will be a better fit.
A 5.7 Hemi V8 sound better? Of course, it does. Choosing the more powerful option, which is standard on the R/T but optional on the rest of the trims, you will be getting an impressive 360 horsepower with 390 lb/ft of torque at 4250 rpm. Power is transmitted to this Hemi via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
Extra Comfort
While the 2016 Durango is on the same platform as it predecessors, Dodge lengthened its wheelbase which adds more room to the interior space. Your passengers in all three rows will appreciate the spacious leg and headroom while the extra cargo room will accommodate your busy lifestyle.
Start Stop Technology
Coming standard on the 3.6L V6 engines will be a brand new item to the Durango, start/stop technology. In an attempt to save fuel wherever it can, the start/stop technology will shut off the engine when idling so as not to waste any extra gas. Lowering emissions is another benefit to start/stop technology as no further expulsions will be happening once the Durango has come to a complete stop and allowed the vehicle to shut off.
Adding to Your Selection
Over the years, Dodge has been adding more items and accessories to the Durango to broaden its appeal opening it to the luxury market. Even though it maintains the ruggedness that comes with a Hemi, certain models enjoy the decadence of leather interior, heated seats, and heated steering wheels. Some question what luxury has to do with it when you’re towing capacity is 6200 lbs., but who says you can’t enjoy both the finer and more powerful things in life?
Definitely not Dodge. In fact, they want you to. The new trims almost insist upon it, and we’re not complaining. They have introduced some exciting new elements to the Durango for this coming year including more trims that showcase and exemplify the experience you want for your Durango.
