Love the Pacifica but don’t know if the hybrid is really the right choice? The Pacifica and the Hybrid model are both very similar . The major difference is the fuel economy, price and storage. Check it out!

Engine and Fuel Economy

The Chrysler Pacifica is a traditional internal combustion engine vehicle and it is equipped with a fuel-efficient 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. The Pacifica has an average fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which makes it one of the most fuel efficient minivans on the market. With a full tank of gas, the Pacifica has a total driving range of 418 miles.

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), so in addition to an engine it also has a battery-powered electric system. The engine in the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a modified version of the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that is in the Pacifica. The Pacifica Hybrid also features dual electric motors and a 16 kWh 360 V lithium-ion battery. The Pacifica Hybrid has an average hybrid fuel economy of 84 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent), and with a fully charged battery and a full tank of gas, the Pacifica Hybrid can travel up to 570 miles.

Trims

Chrysler added new trims to the Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid lineups for the 2018 model year. The Chrysler Pacifica is now available with a base level and more affordable trim known as the Pacifica L and the Pacifica Hybrid now has a new Touring Plus trim. Therefore, in 2018, the Pacifica has eight trim options (L, LX, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus and Limited), and the Hybrid three options (Touring Plus, Touring L and Limited).

Storage

Both of these models come with 140.5 cubic feet of space beyond the first-row and 32.3 cubic feet of space in the trunk. Although it doesn’t make a difference when it comes to volume, it does impact the ease of traveling with a lot of cargo.
