Driving a full-size luxury car that has plenty of space and modern technology can make all the difference in how you feel when you get in your car and how you feel when you get after your car once you have arrived at your destination. Two excellent full-size luxury cars are the Chrysler 300 and Buick LaCrosse, but what’s unique about them is they are two of the more affordable options in their class. If all that sounds good to you but your want to know which model would be a better buy for you, take a look at the comparison below.

Engine

The Chrysler 300 and Buick LaCrosse are both available with two engine options, and two of those options are fairly similar, but the other two are very different. Both the Chrysler 300 and Buick LaCrosse are available with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, and the engine in each model produces fairly similar horsepower and fuel economy. The 3.6L engine in the Buick LaCrosse generates 310 horsepower and averages 24 mpg combined/city highway and the 3.6L engine in the Chrysler 300 produces 292 horsepower and averages 23 mpg combined city/highway.

The other engine available on the Chrysler 300 is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. This engine is a great option for drivers that want a full-size luxury car that can perform a little more like a sports sedan. The 5.7-liter HEMI engine produces 363 horsepower, so drivers will never have to worry about getting up to speed when entering the highway.

The other engine option on the Buick LaCrosse is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with eAssist light, meaning the engine receives some help from a battery. The 2.5L engine produces 194 horsepower, so buyers that are interested in a powerful luxury sedan are going to want to go with the Chrysler 300.

Interior Space

When it comes to full-size luxury sedans, the one feature that consumers are most concerned with is size — and the Chrysler 300 is the winner when it comes to passenger space and trunk space! The Buick LaCrosse and Chrysler 300 both offer front seat passengers almost the same amount of legroom – (42 inches in the Buick LaCrosse and 41.8 inches in the Chrysler 300), but the Chrysler 300 offers back seat passengers 41 inches of legroom, which is 3.1 inches more than backseat passengers have in the Buick LaCrosse (Buick LaCrosse offers 38 inches of legroom in the backseat). Additionally, the Buick LaCrosse’s trunk offers buyers 14.3 cubic-feet of space, and the Chrysler 300 offers 16.3 cubic-feet of space, which can make a big difference when trying to fit an odd-sized object in the trunk.

Other Features

Both vehicles have modern tech features, but the Chrysler 300 does have a slight edge over the Buick LaCrosse. The Chrysler 300 is equipped with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Uconnect 4.0, which is FCA’s proprietary infotainment system, a rearview backup camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Buick LaCrosse is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, and OnStar.

There is quite a difference between both features when comparing their exterior design. The Chrysler 300 has a sleek, modern and sophisticated design. The LaCrosse’s exterior design is is a little more traditional looking than other full-size luxury sedans on the market.
