The 2022 Chevy Camaro Is Finally In Production

We’ve recently learned that the Chevrolet company is bringing their 2022 Chevrolet Camaro into production at the GM Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan GM Authority. Due to the current microchip shortage impacting various automakers, including Chevy, it has contributed to the delay of General Motors (GM) with the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5, along with the upcoming Camaro vehicle.

Owing to this delay, inventory for the 2022 muscle car went down, which also contributed to the decrease in Camaro sales. More specifically, car site, GM Authority, reported last month that these Carmo sales went down to a 9 percent segment share during the second quarter of last year.

These year-to-date 2021 Camaro sales came up to 9,881 units, which is a decrease of 29 percent as opposed to 2020’s calendar year of 13,860 units. These shares come up to 14 percent, which is down 2020 percent reported in 2020.

The 2022 Camaro is in its seventh model year and has received a few beautifications and updates as opposed to the previous year. Production of this vehicle was initially set this year, Monday, June 14th, but that date was eventually pushed back.

These augmentations involve the adding of two new exterior colors, along with discontinuing two other exterior options, specifically Crush, which is an orange hue using the paint code G16, with the addition of Shock, a green-yellow with the paint code GKO. New options include Rapid Blue, which we saw at the Daytona race, NASCAR Beef It’s What’s For Dinner 300 , last February. The second color is Vivid Orange Metallic.

Other features that we’re saying bye to include the LT 1LE Track Performance Package and the 20-inch Caliente wheelset.

Live Configurations

The news of the 2022 Chevy Camaro goes even further as the company has launched an online configurator tool, enabling loyalists to make their own distinctive personalization to the pony car.

Similar to other configurators of GM, this one, in particular, allows its users to select from either the Coupe or Convertible body types and choose their desired trim level. The specific models that will be brought forth from the previous Camaro involve 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1. Buyers can also choose colors for the exterior and interior, as well as packages and options.

An example of what one could do with the configurator is to put Rapid Blue as an exterior color for the 1SS Coupe, with Medium Ash Gray for the interior upholstery. Another is to add on Black Accent Exterior Package, which encompasses a satin black painted front splitter and side rockers, along with 20-inch split-spoke Satin Black wheels.

The upcoming Camaro is certainly geared up and will require that buyers give up $56,920, (plus destination fee) for the base price, as well as $4,420 for selected packages. Additionally, selected options require $7,815, (plus destination fee).
