Chevy Bolt EV is King of EVs
When compared to the competition, the Chevy Bolt EV is the best and most affordable electric vehicle (EV) on the market. When compared to other comparably-priced competitors like the Nissan Leaf and Ford Focus EV, the Bolt EV beats out the competition in battery range, power and MPGe.
Driving Range
When it comes to an EV, the total driving range on a fully-charged battery is a top priority for drivers. The Chevy Bolt out runs the Ford Focus EV and Nissan Leaf. The battery in the Chevy Bolt is a 60 kWh 350 V lithium-ion battery that has a driving range of more than 238 miles. The Nissan Leaf has a 30 kWh 360 V lithium-ion has a 107-mile driving range and the Ford Focus EV’s 33.5 kWh lithium-ion has a 100-mile driving range. Not only does the Chevy Bolt EV win, but it does so by a lot.
Horsepower
Just because you want a fuel efficient car doesn’t mean you want to sacrifice horsepower and Chevy understands that. The Chevy Bolt EV may run on battery power, but it produces an impressive 200 horsepower, which is more than some gas-powered vehicles. The Nissan Leaf only produces 107 horsepower and the Ford Focus EV produces 143 horsepower, so again, the Chevy Bolt EV smokes the competition.
MPGe
Due to the fact that EVs are not powered by gas or diesel fuel, fuel economy is given as MPGe instead of MPG. MPGe simply means miles per gallon equivalent and it’s a way to make it easier for consumers to understand a vehicle’s fuel economy. In addition to the Chevy Bolt EV’s total driving range of 238 miles, the Chevy Bolt EV has an average fuel economy of 128 MPGe in the city and 110 MPGe on the highway. The Focus EV has an average fuel economy of 96 MPGe on the highway and 118 MPGe in the city and the Nissan Leaf has an estimated fuel economy of 124 MPGe in the city and 101 MPGe on the highway.
