2016 Chevy Awards

2016 has been an all around great and well-rounded year for Chevy. They won tons of awards, they had the MOTOR TREND 2016 Car and Truck of the Year, and they released the brand’s first all-electric vehicle, and it is pretty impressive. Check it out.

J.D. Power Awards

JD Power Awards are a big deal and in 2016, seven Chevy models earned awards and Chevy took home more J.D. Power Initial Quality and Dependability awards than any other brand. The Chevy Malibu, Chevy Silverado HD, Chevy Camaro and Chevy Equinox all earned the title as “Most Dependable” in their class and the Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Spark, Chevy Silverado HD, Chevy Silverado LD and Chevy Equinox were all named “Highest Ranked in Initial Quality” in their class.

Cars

The 2017 Chevy Bolt EV is Chevy’s first all electric vehicle (EV). With an electric range of 238 miles, the Bolt EV has one of the best electric ranges at its price point (around $30,000 with federal tax credit). The all-new 2017 Chevy Bolt took last year’s baton from the Chevy Camaro and became the MOTOR TREND “2017 Car of the Year.” The new vehicle was also named “2017 Green Car of the Year” by the _ Green Car Journal. _

The Chevy Volt is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) that was redesigned for the 2016 model year and its new design won quite a few awards. This year the Chevy Volt was an IIHS Top Safety Pick, it was named “Car of the Year” by _ AutoBytel _ , and it secured a spot on _ WardsAuto _ “10 Best Engines” list.

That isn’t all for Chevy cars. The 2016 Chevy Camaro was the MOTOR TREND 2016 Car of the Year and it was included in _ Car and Driver’s _ “10 Best” list. The 2016 Chevy Corvette was awarded the title as “Most Loved Premium Coupe” by Strategic Vision, while the Chevy Impala was named a “Best Buy” in its class by _ Consumer Guide Automotive. _

SUVs

In addition to two Chevy SUVs earning J.D. Power awards, Chevy SUVs also snagged up some other notable awards. The Chevy Tahoe is one of Chevy’s family cars. The SUV is built to last and fit the family, which is probably why the 2016 Tahoe was named Most Loved Full-Size Utility Vehicle by Strategic Vision.

The 2016 Chevy Traverse was named “Best Large SUV for the Money” by _ U.S. News and World Report _ and the 2016 Chevy Equinox was an IIHS Top Safety Pick+.

Trucks

In 2016, the Chevy Silverado LD, Silverado HD and Chevy Colorado were all given awards, impressive considering Chevy only has those three trucks! In addition to the J.D. Power awards the Silverado LD and HD earned, the 2016 Chevy Colorado was MOTOR TREND’s 2016 Truck of the Year, which is an excellent award. The Colorado and the Silverado LD were named “Best Buys” by _ Consumer Guide Automotive _ .
