4 Things That Make the Camaro ZL1 a Gearhead’s Dream Car

Calling all the gearheads out there, this one’s for you! The Chevy Camaro ZL1 goes from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds. That is insanely fast! The Camaro ZL1 can take on the best dragsters at the drag strip, but it also handles and rides amazing as a daily driver. So, when it comes down to it, what makes the ZL1 be able to perform so well?

  • *Engine and Transmission – It is tough to beat the Camaro ZL1’s 650 horsepower/650 lb-ft of torque 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 engine. The powerful engine can be paired either with a six-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter or a 10-speed automatic transmission with manual paddle shifters. *

Some of these many features include: a carbon-fiber composite hood, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, 285/30ZR20 front and 305/30ZR20 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar summer-only tires, and high-performance Brembo brakes.

  • Performance Technology – Many of the performance tech features that the Camaro ZL1 has also double as safety features. Some examples of these features include: magnetic ride control, which reads road conditions 1,000 times per second; eLSD, which provides high-speed stability; a performance traction management system; customized launch control; and the ability for driver’s to watch and track their vehicle’s’ performance via the vehicle’s exclusive Performance Data Recorder system.
