2024 Chevy Equinox EV Sees Reduced Pricing
Chevrolet will be reducing pricing for the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV. The all-electric mid-size SUV is the latest EV to come from Chevrolet and it rides on the automaker’s Ultium EV platform. Other EVs that utilize the platform include the Silverado EV. The 2025 Bolt EV is also set to arrive on the new platform. While Chevy planned to make a huge impact in the EV sphere with its EV platform, resistance and pushback against EVs due to cost and range have cast a shadow on the automaker’s goals. Thankfully, Chevy is planning to offer the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV at a reduced price compared to its initial starting point. Making the 2024 Equinox EV more affordable helps would-be consumers who may have considered switching to an EV, but haven’t found one with a reasonable price tag. We’ll take a closer look at Chevy’s decisions here, but this is good news for those hesitant consumers in the market for a highly capable and versatile EV.
2024 Chevy Equinox EV Sees Reduced Price Tag
Chevrolet will be reducing pricing for the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV. The all-electric mid-size SUV is set to take over as the automaker’s most affordable EV with the Bolt EV seeing a pause until 2025. In the meantime, Chevy hopes to attract consumers looking for a highly capable yet affordable EV. The 2024 Equinox EV is set to release at a starting MSRP of $34,995 (plus destination fee). One of the first available trims for the electric SUV was the 2RS which was priced at $48,995 (plus destination fee). Seeing the large discrepancy between prices, General Motors (GM) intervened to see pricing overall reduced. Now the 2RS trim is priced at $44,795 (plus destination fee). Consumers can expect other Equinox EV trims to also see reduced pricing. This doesn’t even include the latest U.S Clean Vehicle Tax Credit which provides customers with a $7,500 rebate when they purchase an EV.
For performance, the 2024 Equinox EV varies in power depending on whether owners opt for front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The all-electric SUV features a single electric motor and with front-wheel drive equipped, owners can expect 210 horsepower. With all-wheel drive, horsepower increases to 290. For range, the Equinox EV sees up to 319 miles of battery range and with a DC fast charger, owners can expect 70 miles of battery in just 10 minutes. Inside, owners will find a spacious and comfortable cabin with a 17.7-inch freeform display that incorporates the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen. For storage, the maximum capacity reaches 57 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. We’ll have to wait for more information, but so far, it seems like the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will be one of the most affordable electric SUVs available.Â
